Do you often feel unseen or like you're always putting others' needs before your own? You may be a high-achiever, a people-pleaser, or someone who appears confident on the outside yet feeling exhausted, anxious, or questioning your worth on the inside. We may be a great fit if you feel stuck in unfulfilling relationships and are ready to set healthy boundaries, rebuild self-trust, and stop second-guessing your needs. Together, we'll uncover the patterns holding you back, often rooted in early experiences or unresolved trauma, so you can show up more confidently and authentically in your life.

I have over three years of experience working with adults and teens from diverse backgrounds, helping them address a variety of challenges.
My ideal client feels stuck in survival mode. They may struggle with anxiety, emotional numbness, overthinking, or patterns in relationships that trace back to earlier experiences. They often appear high-functioning but feel overwhelmed internally, constantly bracing for something to go wrong. Triggers feel bigger than they “should,” and rest rarely feels restful. They want to understand why their nervous system reacts so strongly and learn how to move through life feeling steadier, more present, and less shaped by the past.

I am focused on understanding the client and supporting the optimal healing process. I have an unconditional commitment to each of my clients to be open and honest, to be focused on their life-enhancing goals, and to work in a proactive manner to help them achieve these goals in the briefest possible time. No single approach works for everyone. Some issues may be addressed with a short-term, solution-focused approach. More complex issues may need a combination of approaches over a longer time.

I have over 20 years of experience offering individual, couples and group DBT skills to teens, adults and parents.
Have you been treated for depression or anxiety, but you still don't feel like yourself? Does sadness, shame and guilt still consume your days leaving you exhausted and hopeless? Does it feel like no matter what you do nothing will ever get better? I understand, and I can help. It's hard to go through each day feeling so overwhelmed and defeated. People tell you to snap out of it, don't take it personally, try to think positively. They just don't get it. You want to be happy, but you don't know how.

The parts of ourselves that we struggle with are sometimes our greatest assets. Therapy can be a place to better realize our strengths and identify where long-term narratives and behaviors are no longer serving us. I am passionate about working with people on areas such as OCD, anxiety, trauma, adoption, gender, and relationships including romantic and parental. Oftentimes religion/spirituality and sex/sexuality, come up in my work. My therapeutic approach incorporates both systemic and relational pieces. We do not exist in a vacuum. All of our experiences shape the person we are today

I specializing in working with adults who are struggling with OCD, trauma, perinatal mental health, and anxiety.
I specialize in the treatment of OCD and anxiety using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard, evidence-based approach for OCD. OCD often shows up in ways that are misunderstood or hidden through intrusive thoughts, mental rituals, avoidance, or “not just right” feelings. You may experience significant shame around these symptoms and worry about being judged or misunderstood. In this space, intrusive thoughts are understood as symptoms of OCD, not reflections of who you are. Nothing you share will be met with judgment or alarm.

FAQ - About Adult Counseling
Why should adults see a therapist?
Adults may benefit from therapy for a wide range of reasons—whether it’s managing symptoms of a diagnosed mental health condition like anxiety or depression, navigating life transitions, coping with grief or trauma, or simply seeking support during a challenging life period. Many adults find that therapy helps them build healthier coping skills and better process their emotions, which may lead to better relationships and reduced stress. It’s important to note that, unlike psychiatrists or primary care physicians, therapists do not prescribe psychiatric medication. However, they will often work alongside prescribing clinicians to ensure coordinated care and can provide behavioral therapy as an important addition to psychiatric medication. Mental health concerns can look different in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence, so finding a therapist with expertise working with adult clients is important. Conditions like major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for instance, may present or resurface differently in adulthood than in childhood or adolescence. Adult-specific stressors, such as job strain, caregiving responsibilities, relationship challenges, financial stress, or identity transitions, can also influence the onset and type of symptoms an individual experiences. Adult-focused therapists, therefore, are trained to understand these complexities and tailor care accordingly.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit for me?
When seeking care, it’s important to understand a therapist’s treatment specialties and their overall approach to treatment . Some therapists focus on common adult conditions like anxiety or depression, while others specialize in areas such as trauma, substance use disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s also important to consider a therapist’s training when seeking care. Therapists hold various licenses depending on their training and state requirements. Common therapy credentials include Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs). Psychologists (PhD or PsyD) receive additional doctoral-level training and may focus on assessments or more specialized therapeutic approaches. All of these professionals can provide talk therapy but do not prescribe medication. When searching for a therapist, consider their credentials and training background to ensure a good fit.

How do I find a therapist who sees adults?
Psychology Today’s online directory allows you to search specifically for therapists who work with adults. Each provider profile includes key information such as clinical specialties, therapeutic approaches, licensure, accepted insurance plans, languages spoken, and session fees. Reviewing these details can help you determine whether a particular provider aligns with your needs and can indicate whether they are a good match for adult clients.
