You struggle building friendships. Maybe it's because you have ADHD , Autism, or another social learning difference, or perhaps your anxiety just gets in the way. You feel that when you're interacting, things seem awkward. You realize that after a conversation, you think about what you just said, and it repeatedly plays in your mind. Your parents are stumped on how to help you. They've tried everything from workbooks to making you try out for a team or activity you hate! You're constantly feeling like you're on the verge of losing control. You wish you knew how to make connections, but the truth is, it's hard, and you don't know how.

I have worked intensively around issues of self-esteem in adolescents and adults with learning disabilities/ ADHD and how to work on this in therapy.
For many people, facing life's problems can be scary, and asking for help in confronting them seems down right impossible. If you are one of these people, therapy may be beneficial to you. Therapy can help you develop a deeper understanding of these challenging issues as well as a greater understanding of yourself and how you relate to others. By helping you articulate your thoughts and feelings, and gaining a better understanding of your past experiences, we can work together to help you live a more satisfying and meaningful life.

My experience also includes working with neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD and autism, eating disorders, dissociative disorders, cluttered environments, and much more.
We all play different roles in life, and sometimes these roles can ask so much of us that little is left for ourselves. This can lead to feeling overwhelmed and burned out. Counseling can help ease these feelings by offering a safe space to unpack and sort through even the biggest emotions. I encourage authenticity and curiosity in the counseling space, and my aim is to support you as you learn and put into action new skills while growing your sense of awareness, self-acceptance, and agency. My counseling approach is integrative. I will incorporate drama therapy as well, where we will use a bit of creativity to help make change.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.
