I specialize in treating adults struggling with depression , anxiety, anger, life transitions, chronic pain, trauma, relationship issues, and substance abuse.
I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a collaboration. I do more than just listen; I provide honest and helpful feedback while supporting your goals and values. During the therapeutic process, you will gain a deeper understanding of what you want out of life and develop skills to help you attain it. You will know if you are benefiting from therapy based on how you feel and act outside of our sessions. You will start to see yourself consistently making choices that move your life in a positive direction, even in the face of difficult and painful emotions.

Anxiety, depression , trauma, loneliness, doubt, heartache, leftover childhood drama can all get in the way.
Are you doing well in your relationship with your partner? Are you respected at work? How about getting along with friends? Success in relationships, work and friendships have one thing in common: good communication. Being skillful in what you say and how you say it in the moment, is not easy. If you figure out the perfect response later on, you missed the opportunity. Do you have the courage and good verbal skills to create better relationships? Are you taken seriously at work? Are you sought after by friends? Are you seeking a love relationship or trying to get to the next level? Self-confidence comes from articulation.

Wouldn't it be great to get the guidance and support you need to have more ease in your mind and body? To move through life's big challenges with confidence and resilience? The truth is most of us have accumulated feelings and beliefs from traumatic and hurtful experiences. We form all kinds of uncomfortable symptoms as a result, from inner conflicts and severe self-criticism to anxiety, depression , and broken relationships. The great thing is that these uncomfortable symptoms really get our attention and can call us to a more satisfying conscious life and a much improved version of ourselves. I am here to help you do this.

I help women and men overcome anxiety, depression , loss, and relational difficulties. I specialize in empowering women by developing their self-worth and confidence through individual therapy, group therapy, and specialized retreats. My approach is an integration of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which means I will explore the way you experienced the world from birth until present in order to identify habits and behaviors that have become roadblocks to living in alignment with the person you want to be. I utilize LifeMaps, an interactive treatment plan where you can track progress and see your therapy notes.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
