As Gestalt therapists, we are not the arbiter of how you should feel or what you might do to feel better. After all, who knows more about you than you? We simply witness and respond. If you have ever experienced being with a person who suspended judgement, and simply listened, you might be aware of how healing that felt for you. I'm a NYS licensed psychotherapist from Manhattan, NY now based in Hampton Bays. In my nine years of doing experiential psychotherapy, I've focused my approach to be present centered and relational informed.

I aim to provide exceptional psychotherapy services and reach individuals in a unique way. Many times, it can be difficult to put into words what is bothering us or find the root cause of our difficult feelings. Art making in sessions is used as a vessel, and not always necessary during sessions. When words fail us, we can explore art together to see what comes up for you. I am now offering yoga and art therapy sessions to offer a full embodied experience, opening with yoga asana, meditation, art creation and finally process your experience together. Please refer to my website for more information if interested!

I have worked extensively with individuals who've experienced varying levels of Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Substance Dependence, Self Identity issues, Imposter Syndrome, and more.
Sometimes on this journey of life, we get in our own way and aren't ready to change until things get hairy! This can translate into a mindset or habit that no longer serves us. Does it seem like no matter how hard you try, there's a feeling of doom and gloom? Maybe you excel in one area of life but feel like you're far behind in another. Maybe there are personal goals that seem unobtainable due to feeling stuck. I have helped Clients get to the other side of the progress they want to see. Whether you're in the pre-contemplative or the action phase of change, I provide guidance and support while holding you accountable to your goals.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
