I focus on helping resolve anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Hi, welcome! I have immediate openings and welcome professionals, students, adolescents, parents, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ folks. Are you struggling with work, relationships, or past trauma? I offer a safe, nonjudgemental, compassionate atmosphere, and listen deeply. I use somatic, relational, experiential and mindfulness-based modalities like AEDP. I believe therapy sessions shouldn't be just talking about feelings, but instead having a new experience, so you leave each session feeling different, better. Together, we forge new pathways for lasting healing.

I’m a therapist that works with people with anxiety and depression.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, to me, it should be personal. Drawing from Psychodynamic principles, traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness techniques, I work with you to build coping tools for life’s challenges.

Outside of my work with couples, I also work well with individuals who find themselves struggling with anxiety and depression and who want to find peace in their mind.
In my work experience in private practice, I have helped individuals work on ways to cope through their anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with young adult women and teens as I have always found this age group one that I connect with easily. It is a time of making many life choices and growth and I love being a part of that journey.

We can address immediate challenges that are increasing depression or anxiety.
I currently have availability for a few new clients! (During business hours). Sometimes it really makes sense to have a confidential setting to talk about overwhelming feelings or difficult circumstances. I graduated from Syracuse University with a masters degree in social work in 2003, so I have over 20 years experience working with many different people dealing with life's challenges. I worked in a day treatment program for 9 years and a mental health clinic for 2 years, before starting my private practice. Every day I bring all I have learned into each session, drawing on my knowledge and experience.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, life transitions, intrusive thoughts, and the patterns that can leave us feeling stuck.
My approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful progress begins with an honest look at where you are and where you want to be. My work is informed by CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while recognizing that every person's needs are different.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
