I enjoy the Hakomi method and bridging understanding with parts of the self through Internal Family Systems - parts work.
As a first-generation Haitian American woman, I experienced and witnessed the profound impact of this cultural intersectionality of my life. It influenced how I approached relationships and made me acutely aware of the glass ceiling faced by women, particularly those of Black or Brown heritage. It taught me empathy and compassion for my mother and grandmother-navigating mountain-like challenges such as language barriers. This realization spurred me to challenge stereotypes, break barriers, and address intergenerational trauma.

For people who struggle with addiction and other self-harming behaviors, I use IFS, Motivational Interviewing and somatic approaches to help you understand the roots and functions of these behaviors.
Many people find themselves acting against their own better judgment and best interests without knowing why. The focus of my practice is to help you know yourself better - your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It's the first step towards making choices that improve the quality of your life. Once you have more awareness of why you react to certain people, places and things in ways that can feel extreme, it’s important to understand how your coping strategies, while helpful in the past, may be causing problems in the present. Then we'll work to build new coping strategies that keep you grounded and make it easier to reach your goals.

In individual therapy I use an integrative approach based on the client's needs including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, somatic therapy, psychanalysis, and talk therapy.

Do you want to regain intimacy and closeness with one another? Are you someone looking to decrease anxiety and people-pleasing behaviors and increase self-esteem?

I primarily use CBT and Internal Family Systems ( IFS) to help you understand how trauma shapes thoughts, emotions, and protective patterns.
My ideal client feels stuck in survival mode. They may struggle with anxiety, emotional numbness, overthinking, or patterns in relationships that trace back to earlier experiences. They often appear high-functioning but feel overwhelmed internally, constantly bracing for something to go wrong. Triggers feel bigger than they “should,” and rest rarely feels restful. They want to understand why their nervous system reacts so strongly and learn how to move through life feeling steadier, more present, and less shaped by the past.

Each of us has an innate capacity to create meaningful and lasting change. I see the therapeutic relationship as one where that inner strength is recognized and nurtured, through trust and unconditional empathy. I create a space where thoughts and feelings can be unburdened, and in that process patterns can be explored and new perspectives generated, all towards healing and thriving. Self-compassion and reflection are foundational in building resilience, and I empower my clients to uncover their own abilities in coping, adapting, and overcoming the hardships they may face.

I draw on my training in Internal Family Systems ( IFS), EMDR, and Sensorimotor to support those navigating the lingering effects of trauma, recurring patterns, or stuckness.
What I “actually do” can best be compared to a dance; one in which we harmonize with your distinct personality, narrative, and way of being in the world. Less about giving direct advice, I attune to your rhythms and hold space while you set the pace for growth in ways that feel manageable, embodied, and aligned with who you are.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
