Taking the first step toward finding a therapist can feel overwhelming. You may have reached this decision for many reasons, and it’s essential to find a therapist who is the right fit—someone who can support and guide you on your path to greater personal strength and well-being. Our work will center on your empowerment. Together, we’ll clarify what you truly want—not just what to overcome, but what to create. We'll explore your values, the social context you live in, and move toward actions that align with what matters most to you.

Hello everyone, please welcome and allow me to first begin in thanking you. The choice to start therapy isn’t always easy, sometimes it is the most difficult thing to do is to even consider it, then admit you want/need it before even taking the steps to start, but you are not alone on this journey. Perhaps there has been times that you have found yourself feeling stressed, down, lacking confidence, or stuck in a pattern that no longer serves you. Perhaps you’re ready to take steps toward changes but feel stuck or unsure where to start. Or even feeling lost in your relationships in life or even disconnected from them.

I am passionate about serving the Asian community. You deserve a safe, understanding space to be yourself. Maybe seeking help outside the family feels culturally taboo or past bullying has left you feeling like you don’t belong. You may feel pressure to prove your worth, leading to self-criticism, perfectionism, or difficulty expressing anger, grief, or affection. These struggles can affect friendships and intimacy—but you don’t have to face them alone.

People desire the same things no matter where they are on their mental health journey: safety that doesn't demand perfection, connection that doesn't overwhelm, and support that doesn't disappear. These goals are deeply human: to feel regulated, to form secure relationships, to reduce the stress, and to believe that life can be lived rather than endured. Whether you are just starting on your therapy journey, or returning after a long break - there is space for you in my practice to be heard, to start processing, healing, and thriving.

I work with individuals who feel emotionally exhausted from carrying too much for too long. Many struggle with depression and anxiety rooted in rejection, abandonment, betrayal, mother wounds, or church hurt. They often find themselves overfunctioning in relationships, people-pleasing, or staying in toxic environments longer than they should because they long for stability, belonging, or love. By the time they reach out, they often recognize that painful patterns keep repeating in their lives and relationships. They come to therapy seeking clarity, emotional healing, stronger boundaries, and the ability to finally move on.

While I specialize in CBT, TF-CBT and Schema therapy, I often utilize a variety of approaches to best meet every individual's needs.
Dealing with difficult feelings alone can be overwhelming. Many find it far easier to keep those feelings buried. Some are overcome by them instead. These feelings can interfere with our dreams and relationships, impacting our ability to live our lives to the fullest. It would be my honor to partner with you in making your dreams a reality. If it is your child you are seeking help for, I have close to two decades of experience working with kids and teens.

I believe that healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and understood. For the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of supporting BIPOC women as they navigate depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and self-esteem concerns. As a therapist, I recognize that many BIPOC women carry unique personal, cultural, and societal pressures that can affect emotional well-being, relationships, and sense of self. Together, we will explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, process difficult emotions, and build healthier ways of coping, communicating, and caring for yourself.

Sometimes we feel stuck because of anxiety, low self-esteem, negative thinking patterns, or the way we feel about ourselves. Many people struggle with overthinking, self-criticism, body image issues, comparison to others, fear about the future, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Therapy can help you identify distorted thinking patterns, improve self-esteem, develop self-compassion, and build healthier coping skills and tools for anxiety, stress, and emotional challenges. As self-acceptance grows, many people begin to feel more emotionally grounded, confident, peaceful, and connected.

LLS Therapies supports individuals, couples, and students in high-expectation environments who carry a great deal internally. Many appear composed and capable on the outside while privately navigating stress, anxiety, relationship strain, or a sense of disconnection. Many are the “responsible ones” who carry emotional pressure silently. If vulnerability feels foreign, you're not alone. We offer a calm, structured space to explore what's beneath the surface at a pace that honors your autonomy. We serve CT and NY via telehealth.

Schema Therapy
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy is based on the idea that maladaptive thought patterns formed in childhood—that other people can never be relied on, for example—can interfere with healthy functioning in adulthood. Accordingly, schema therapy works by directly targeting such unhealthy schemas, identifying their consequences, and replacing them with more adaptive ways of thinking. To this end, schema therapists aim to “reparent” the client by offering what they didn’t get in childhood—validation, for instance, or compassion—to reorient their worldview.

Is schema therapy evidence-based?
Schema therapy is still considered relatively new, and research on its efficacy is still in progress. However, some studies have concluded that it can be effective at treating certain mental health conditions, most notably personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder. Evidence for its efficacy in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD is promising but less conclusive, and experts warn that much of the existing research is of low quality.

Is schema therapy a type of CBT?
Schema therapy is based on many principles of CBT, most notably the process of recognizing and challenging maladaptive thought patterns. But because schema therapy also draws from other approaches, including psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy, it is not considered a form of CBT. It also typically delves deeper into the client’s childhood than does CBT.

How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy does not call for a set number of sessions and is instead open-ended, with the treatment timeline depending on the client’s primary concern(s), progress, and preferences. Treatment that lasts between six months and two years is common, though many clients will start to see progress much earlier than that.
