As a CRPA-P my main goal is to compassionately empower others to either embark on or re-engage into their recovery journey from addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. As a person in long term recovery from such disorders and also a family member of loved ones struggling with the same conditions, I am uniquely positioned to connect with people who are sometimes thought of as unreachable. I employ my years of experience on both ends of the spectrum to help people let go of old ideas and enthusiastically participate in their own lives.

For nearly twenty years, I’ve worked with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, self-doubt, and life transitions.
Therapy is more than a place to talk — it’s a space to pause, breathe, and gently untangle the experiences that have shaped you. I see each person as inherently resilient, even when life feels overwhelming. Within a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, we can begin to make sense of what’s been heavy, reconnect with your strengths, and create room for meaningful change.

You might be in a season where everything is changing at once, and it feels heavier than you expected. Life transitions are often described as exciting, but the stress, anxiety, and pressure that come with them are deeply underestimated. You may be navigating college, career uncertainty, relationship challenges, infertility, pregnancy, or parenting while quietly wondering why it feels so hard. It can feel isolating, overwhelming, and full of constant anxiety, self-doubt, and pressure to have it together. Many people I work with feel stuck, exhausted, and unsure how to move forward, even when they are truly trying their best.

You feel stressed out all the time. You have managed to keep everything together for years but you feel like you are barely holding on. You are exhausted all the time and often think you just can't do it anymore. On the outside, it seems like you have it all it. You’re accomplished, driven, and dependable. But on the inside, you never feel good enough and the voice in your head often reminds you of all the ways you’re falling short. You're tired of giving so much to everyone else while you continue to come last on your list. Not anymore. Now is the time to prioritize yourself and make a positive change.

On the outside, you look put-together. Inside, you’re exhausted from overthinking — replaying conversations, re-reading that text five times, dissecting the breakup trying to pinpoint where it shifted. You may be successful on paper — but anxious, stuck, or burned out underneath. These patterns don’t mean you’re broken. They mean something deeper is driving them. Therapy with me isn’t about endless venting. It’s about identifying those patterns and learning how to change them. If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation call.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
