Accepting New Clients! One of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story through therapy. You deserve to heal and experience your life in a way that brings you joy. My goal is to provide a warm, non-judgmental space for you to do just that. You may find that since a difficult life event you don't feel quite like yourself anymore. Maybe you are feeling more angry. Sleeping more. Enjoying life less. Perhaps the challenges of the long pandemic have made you feel stressed or frequently tearful. A loss of someone you love might have you feeling hopeless. Maybe a stressful work environment has sapped your joy.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I strive to create a space that is warm, safe, and collaborative. I work with individuals who want to improve their quality of life by exploring areas that may be causing them stress (e.g., grief, identity, depression, anxiety, life transitions etc.). We would also talk about how these stressors may be related to their current or past relationships, whether it be family, friends, children, partners and/or peers. I consider my approach to be direct and open, as well as compassionate and flexible.
As a therapist, I offer a warm space for self-exploration. Let's explore what matters to you, and navigate the experiences that have shaped your current world. I believe that our views of ourselves/others are often negatively shaped by our environments, such as a toxic family member or pattern of failure/loss. I'd like to help you let go of negative beliefs and emotions you've held on to over the years, and make room for others that help you more effectively make movement toward your goals.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. My experience includes, but is not limited to working with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment to life events, and problems within relationships. Unique to my practice is specialized training working with clients who are struggling with eating disorders. I work to provide a safe, validating and non-judgmental environment for individuals and act as a guide/support throughout my client's journey to desired change.
I regret that I am unable to accept new clients at this time. I believe in empowering clients by creating a safe environment in which they can heal and grow. With over twenty five years of experience, I have had the privilege of assisting many clients coping with a wide variety of life's challenges. I am trained in EMDR and have witnessed tremendous healing from painful life events via this technique. In addition to EMDR, I also use a variety of techniques including but not limited to, art therapy, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and traditional talk therapy. Free phone consultations are available and welcomed.
Our completely virtual practice is owned by two Licensed Mental Health Counselors specializing in working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and school challenges/transitions. Interns are currently accepting new clients at a discounted rate of $65.

I enjoy working with adolescents in addition to adults, and like to use whatever forum is most comfortable- face to face, phone or telehealth.

I realize finding a good connection with a therapist is very important. I often have clients tell me that "You are the first therapist I have really felt comfortable with". If you are struggling with marital/relationship conflict, infidelity, loss/grief, separation/divorce, anxiety, depression, toxic relationships, I can help. I have supported many clients better their relationships with a partner, friend and/or family member by learning how to safely navigate and resolve conflict. I have had couples reconnect when they thought their relationship had little to no hope. I also love working with young adults.

Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed with life and the stresses that go with it and you just want to feel calm and centered again. You may be experiencing anxiety or depression and feel like it is time to get help. When we are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, depressed or anxious it can make it hard to feel like a good partner, spouse, parent, employee, family member or friend. I listen without judgement, providing a safe, comfortable and compassionate environment that will allow you to learn, change and grow however you may need.
Is your child or teenager experiencing low mood, lack of motivation, loss of interest, poor self-esteem, irritability, sleep issues, anger problems, and/or difficulty managing their emotions and behavior? They aren't alone. We all want our children to be happy, but there are a lot of things that get in the way of that for our youth. Together, we will work on ways to recognize their feelings, identify their negative thought patterns, and develop healthy coping skills to manage strong feelings. Your child will feel heard and supported while developing the tools to live a happier, less stressful life.
The difficulties of life grip us in ways both obvious and unseen. Life has a way of happening at inconvenient times and counseling can assist in navigating the emotional difficulties and consequences with someone who is non-judgmental and supportive. I strive to view the world through your lens while helping you recognize your strengths and build resiliency through proven techniques so that you can lead a successful and comfortable life. I hope to have the opportunity to support you through this difficult time.
Have you been thinking about counseling for awhile? It's not uncommon for people to consider getting help for months before they make the first call. Nervousness and embarrassment are natural feelings people have when they seek help. But remember, counseling is just people talking to each other. My goal is to help you to feel comfortable. I strive to create a non-judgmental atmosphere where people can develop the insights and skills they need to grow. My approach to counseling is down to earth and practical. I use a solution-focused approach that builds on the strengths already present in my clients.
Do you worry about how you handle stress? Do you worry that you aren't feeling your best? Do you worry about your children and how they are coping? I have been working with people of all ages for 15 years. I specialized in treating anxiety, trauma, and anger management. My work with adults focuses on helping you make necessary changes so that you can move forward in reaching your goals. My work with children focuses on building creativity, confidence, and providing tools for coping with stress and overwhelming emotions.
We all experience, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression or life transitions at some point in our lives, but we do not have to go through these challenges alone. I would like to help you work through these challenges in a caring safe environment.
