Hello! Whether you are looking for a counselor for yourself or a loved one, and whether you are in the just browsing stage or ready to make the first appointment, welcome! I believe that the process of counseling is similar to gardening, with the first step being to find the right ‘soil’ to support the ‘plant’ for growth, or in this case, the right ‘therapist’ for your ‘personal’ growth. To aid you in determining if I am the right fit, here is a little about myself as a therapist.

Choosing to invest in your emotional well-being is an act of courage - one that deserves compassion, guidance, and a space where you feel understood. With this in mind, I center my work on a strong therapeutic alliance rooted in empathy, acceptance, and collaboration. Through an integration of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I aim to assist those I work with in developing healthier coping strategies, strengthening emotion regulation skills, enhancing communication and relationship patterns, and working towards a better understanding of oneself.

As a Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist, I strive to be that person for anyone needing to conquer these difficulties. I find so much value in being present with each individual I work with and specializing the care tailored to each.

I offer in person as well as virtual appointments.
Seeking therapy can be frustrating, overwhelming and scary. You hope to find someone who understands what you're going through, what you've been through or what you're about to face. Life can be difficult and complicated. Sometimes we feel alone and need someone to talk to or we just want someone who is not in our circle. Someone who won't judge. Someone who will take the time to listen and give a different perspective. We all have different ways of approaching problems, managing them and getting the outcomes we desire. Therapy is about finding what works best for you and working together towards it.

Rewrite your story. Reclaim your voice. I help deep thinkers, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those facing grief, identity questions, anxiety, or disordered eating explore the stories shaping their lives—and (re)author ones that empower healing and meaning. With a background in both mental health counseling and a doctorate in English Lit., I specialize in narrative therapy grounded in culture, creativity, and collaboration. My style is warm, thoughtful, and attuned to systems—recognizing that personal pain often echoes cultural and historical pressures. Together, we’ll explore not just what hurts, but what’s possible. Your voice matters.

I offer individual sessions in person and through telehealth, with weekly availability and a compassionate, steady pace.
Do you feel everything deeply, yet still feel disconnected from yourself? You may function well on the outside by appearing capable, responsible, even accomplished, but inside feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unlike yourself. You might overthink, second-guess, or notice the same patterns repeating in relationships, stress, or caregiving roles. I work with adults navigating trauma, chronic emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 25 years in forensic science. I understand reinvention from the inside out—and I know it's possible. I'll meet you wherever you are.

Life transitions and relationships can be challenging. Life changes whether they are expected or unexpected can cause anxiety, stress, and sometimes depression. Trying to start or grow a family can be more difficult than it is made out to be. Facing relationship difficulties whether it be the relationship you have with yourself or with a significant other and questioning your sexual or gender identity can be challenging. FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
