The struggles of daily life can get in the way of what truly matters, relationships with the people you love most. With the right approach, we can get you back on track. I work with conflict, poor communication, lack of intimacy, affairs/betrayal, resentment, effective parenting strategies and more. As someone who has gone through several life altering transitions, I can help you navigate the rough waters. Relationships are an art, but understanding the science behind them is key. Together, we can untangle your deepest needs and help you relate to your loved ones in ways that will bring you closer than ever.

The work of growth and healing is sacred, challenging and beautiful work. Often, my clients come to me when they are at the edge of something scary, painful or confusing. Maybe they are exhausted from their own efforts, physically broken down, seeing their pain leak out into relationships or school or jobs, and they know they need help. They know there's something more to life, that it's not supposed to be this hard. They don't feel whole, stable or capable of achieving the kind of life they know should be within their grasp.

I admire & appreciate the courage it takes to initiate & maintain therapy. Individuals & couples call because they are stuck in unhealthy patterns & do not know how to do something different. I assist them in creating & maintaining healthy patterns. Anxiety & panic are struggles for many people. They learn to control the anxiety as opposed the anxiety controlling them. Miscommunication happens because people often listen to talk as opposed to understand. I teach clients how to communicate in the therapy room so they leave knowing how to do it. Clients regain trust so they can reconnect emotionally & sexually.

I use EMDR, somatic approaches, and parts work in 90 min
You can see your patterns clearly, but that hasn't made them easier to change. Slowing down doesn't feel safe. Hard things haven't scared you, but a relationship, a quiet moment, or a “boring” Tuesday sometimes does. I specialize in complex trauma, identity, and nervous system-informed therapy. The people I tend to work with look fine from the outside. Better than fine, often. High-functioning, competent, holding a lot together. And completely exhausted by the distance between who they are in a room full of people and what's actually going on underneath that. Often that includes veterans, first responders, and career professionals.

Life can be hard at times and it can leave you feeling stuck and hopeless, but there is hope. I believe you deserve to live a life in which you are thriving instead of surviving. I can help you begin to understand, transform, and heal your pain so that you can live a fulfilling and meaningful life. One of the bravest things we can do is to begin to understand ourselves and you don’t have to go on that journey alone. I will provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space to foster your healing journey. “When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending” -Brene Brown

You may feel stuck right now—overwhelmed by chronic stress, anxiety, weighed down by depression, or carrying the impact of complex trauma. These struggles can show up as constant self-criticism, feeling unworthy, substance use, or patterns at work or in relationships that leave you drained and disconnected. They don’t just stay in your mind—they often live in the body too, as tension, exhaustion, or a sense of being on edge. Many of the people I see are looking for more than talk therapy and feel drawn to mind–body approaches. In our work, we explore not only thoughts and emotions, but also how experiences live in the body.

Drawing from relational, compassion-focused, somatic, and parts work models, I support clients in uncovering their own innate capacity to heal and grow.
Therapy is a wonderful space to build resilience. Through cultivating awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and sensations, we can break unwanted patterns of avoidance, reactivity, or shutting down. Through replacing judgment with mindfulness and self-criticism with self-compassion, we gain a greater sense of agency. Through understanding ourselves within our biological, social, and historical context, we are reminded of a shared humanity.

I understand counseling to be a place in which with collaboration, relationships, and trust, an individual can begin to craft the life they want to live by meeting themselves where they are at. Through an intersectional lens, it is my priority to co-create a space in which clients can connect with their whole experience and identities in creating the foundation for an abundance of growth. I understand clients to be the expert of their experience and the work we do to be inherently collaborative.

I guide clients through healing using EMDR, IFS, somatic awareness, mindfulness, attachment theory, and humor.
Seeking help is a courageous step. If you've spent time in traditional therapy, you've likely made valuable progress. But if talk, insight, and coping haven’t led to lasting change, it may be time for a different approach. I often work with clients who come from families where boundaries were unclear, emotions were misunderstood, connection felt conditional, or abuse was mistaken for love. These challenges run deep, creating patterns of reactivity, anxiety, depression, and painful relationship dynamics. By addressing the root cause, we break cycles of suffering and move beyond mere coping to true, lasting healing.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
