I work with individuals across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and welcome diverse relationship structures, including kink and consensual non-monogamy.
In our sessions, I like to get straight to what matters most: your experiences with sexuality, intimacy, and relationships. I take an eclectic, relational approach, drawing from EMDR, schema, and attachment-based work to explore how past experiences and trauma shape your sexual self and connection with others.

I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and kink/poly/CNM-aware.
I offer shame-free, sex-positive counseling to help you live with meaning, power, and purpose. I help adult individuals and couples untangle the “why” behind their patterns—so they can choose the “what now” with clarity and courage. As a cisgender gay man in my 50s, I bring lived experience and past professional expertise to my counseling work, blending the deep empathy of Mr. Rogers, the no-shame attitude of Dr. Ruth, the humor of Dan Savage, with the insight of Brené Brown. As Mr. Rogers said, "I like you just the way you are." Come as you are, and let's get curious together. Tell me your story. I'd love to hear it.

The first step of any healing journey can often be the hardest. Knowing that you could no longer accept dissatisfaction, you've set out to find another way to live. By mustering your strength, you've made that first step by deciding to seek help. Healing can be a long journey, and sometimes we need companions on that journey. My therapeutic approach is to bolster your natural strengths and help fill any gaps in your skill toolbox to address the challenges along the way.

With a history in sex education, I am also kink and sex work aligned and work comfortably within alternative relationship structures and lifestyles.
Navigating conflict and emotional response is a crucial part of the human experience. In some cases, these challenges can become overwhelming or put us in positions where we feel disconnected from our authentic selves. Working with a mental health professional can help us to navigate our individual needs. I believe in an integrative model, prioritizing autonomy and truth to oneself.

Hi, I am a psychotherapist who works with adult (18+) individuals to address a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. I believe the most effective therapy is a collaborative process, where we work together as a team to identify what’s not working and build practical, meaningful solutions that fit your life. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and actively involved in your own healing. We begin by establishing a strong therapeutic alliance—creating a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and grounded in trust.

In my office comfort and safety are high priorities to create a space where folks can bring their honest burdens to a productive space. I also value my clients walking away from therapy with a much greater understanding of their internal experience, and a broad toolkit they can continue using long after we've completed therapy.

My name is Toi-Shareema Grayson. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. I am a proud Black African American raised by my mom, grandmother, uncle, and aunt, whom were all instrumental in my rearing. Surrounded by hard working family is where I gained my reliable work ethic, as well as my passion to work with people. Transitioning into counseling working directly with people just made sense to me. If you are ready to unpack your concerns, work through your challenges, set goals for yourself, and begin your healing process congratulations on taking your first step.

I believe that each person holds within themselves everything they need to heal and grow in the ways they would like. I see the therapist's role as being one in which provides an environment of safety and care where the client can explore themselves authentically. It is through this authentic exploration, that the therapist can help the client discover how patterns and ways of being are keeping the client stuck and resulting in suffering. By bringing into awareness these aspects, the client and therapist can then work collaboratively to release the pain and explore new ways of being.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
