I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). My specialty is trauma and dissociation and I am EMDR certified. I am also trained by ASCH in advanced clinical hypnotherapy. I take a person centered, holistic approach in my work and am strongly aware of the mind-body connection. Laughter, tears, breath, thoughts, feelings, behaviors: expect to explore them all!

Life can be hard at times and it can leave you feeling stuck and hopeless, but there is hope. I believe you deserve to live a life in which you are thriving instead of surviving. I can help you begin to understand, transform, and heal your pain so that you can live a fulfilling and meaningful life. One of the bravest things we can do is to begin to understand ourselves and you don’t have to go on that journey alone. I will provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space to foster your healing journey. “When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending” -Brene Brown

Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that don’t make sense, struggling in relationships, or simply not feeling like yourself, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m a licensed psychologist in New York working virtually with adolescents and adults. I believe deeply in the healing power of connection. When you feel understood and supported, real change becomes possible.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. It may feel unnatural to confide in a stranger, admit vulnerabilities, or ask for help. You may even feel lost and confused, alone to shoulder the burden of your worries or most painful secrets. Psychotherapy can be a powerful tool, where you can become free from the suffering created by these burdens. Therapy is a space where you begin to explore the questions that escape us on the day-to-day: who am I? where do I find meaning? Is this path right for me? These questions may seem daunting, but you won’t face them alone—together we will take the plunge and, hopefully, find clarity and wellness.

You may feel stuck in familiar patterns, overwhelmed by emotions that seem to come out of nowhere, or quietly sensing that something deeper wants your attention. Many people come to therapy not because they’re “broken,” but because they’re ready for a more honest, connected relationship with themselves. I work with adults who are seeking meaningful change especially those who have tried therapy before and feel there’s more beneath the surface. My approach is trauma-informed, holistic, and collaborative, grounded in the belief that healing unfolds when we listen to the wisdom already within you.

Creatively facilitating a safe and therapeutic environment for youth and adults, with a focus on adolescents. Working though trauma; using Art Therapy, EMDR and talk therapy, both online and in person. Art Therapy and EMDR are highly effective ways of expression for many who have experienced trauma and have mental health concerns. I believe that building rapport and trust is one of the most important parts of the therapeutic relationship.

Destigmatizing mental health is one of the biggest challenges we face in todays society. Many individuals are reluctant to seek treatment due to fear of how they may be perceived by their family, friends, and/or any person that plays a significant role in their life. Negative thinking and negative emotions combined with daily stressors is almost certain to lead you down an unhealthy path.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
