Finding a therapist can be challenging but when you find the right therapist, it can be life-changing. During our work together I will be dedicated to your mental health and healing, your needs, your story, and your journey.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Casac II, with a background in mindfulness, holistic health, spirituality, and mind-body connection; I bring a unique perspective to this work.
Being alive inevitably comes with adversity. My philosophy as a therapist is less focused on pathology and instead what people have experienced and how it has shaped them.

Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns that keep repeating. These patterns may look like conflict in relationships, screen usage to avoid feelings, or strong reactions that feel hard to control. Often they are trying to make sense of their feelings while also wanting concrete ways to handle everyday situations differently. I work especially well with couples, men, and emerging adults facing challenges in relationships, work, or major life transitions.

I believe we can all agree that we want to have happy, healthy, and satisfying lives. Unfortunately, sometimes obstacles hinder us from achieving the outcomes we desire. Whether it be anxiety, depression, intrusive ruminating thoughts, or alcohol/substance abuse, mental illness is REAL and can affect anyone. If you are struggling; however, have the motivation to collaborate, identify your needs and goals then let us (together) get to work.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of what you are feeling and carrying. I provide a supportive environment where emotions, body awareness, and personal patterns can be explored at your own pace. My work is informed by the understanding that many struggles are shaped by early experiences, family dynamics, and cultural pressures. I support a healing process that is compassionate, grounded, and practical. I also work with clients involved in psychedelic or ketamine-assisted therapy by providing a safe space for integration.
I practice under the clinical supervision of Lynda Battaglia, LCSW.

Feeling anxious all the time is such a crippling feeling and can feel like there is no escaping it. Just when one anxious thought starts to go away, another one shows up and takes its place. It can feel like an endless cycle of racing thoughts, worry, and fear about anything and everything. It’s hard to know when the anxiety will be over especially living in an anxiety-inducing world that is constantly changing which in turn leads to more anxiety. If this sounds like you, you're not alone!

I admire & appreciate the courage it takes to initiate & maintain therapy. Individuals & couples call because they are stuck in unhealthy patterns & do not know how to do something different. I assist them in creating & maintaining healthy patterns. Anxiety & panic are struggles for many people. They learn to control the anxiety as opposed the anxiety controlling them. Miscommunication happens because people often listen to talk as opposed to understand. I teach clients how to communicate in the therapy room so they leave knowing how to do it. Clients regain trust so they can reconnect emotionally & sexually.

Life takes us on many unexpected twists and turns. No matter how hard working, tough or intelligent we are - none of us can get it right all of the time. Things have often been building up for a while, perhaps as early as our childhood. When we finally do fail, it hurts. We are shocked and caught unaware. We judge ourselves harshly and feel we are less than what we should be. This is when we need help in getting through these life transitions. Counseling can give us a fresh perspective. It helps us look at each crisis as an opportunity, to find even better directions for ourselves and for our loved ones.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
