I offer therapy sessions in person and via telehealth.
“Mountains know the secrets we need to learn; that it might take time, it might be hard, but if you just hold on long enough, you will find the strength to rise up.” -Tyler Knott Gregson. Making the decision to change any aspect of your life is a big step towards living authentically and with fulfillment. Feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, struggling with not feeling like yourself, or burdened by the impact of unprocessed trauma can make this step seem daunting. Together we can take that step, work towards a stronger sense of self, better handle triggers and work through past traumas.

I am currently using a hybrid of Telehealth and in-person therapy sessions depending on patients needs.
I believe that all people seeking therapy are truly unique, yet we all have the same basic needs for acceptance, compassion, happiness, and human connection. For some, our early childhood experiences prevent us from getting these needs met as adults. For others, it is simply the stresses and demands of everyday life that contribute to our feeling anxious, depressed or having chronic pain symptoms. Sometimes we experience losses (big or small) which are hard to process and recover from. Often it is a combination of factors that we cannot clearly identify. Therapy is the path toward getting your needs met.

The painful experiences and emotions we try to hide often end up shaping how we feel, how we see the world, and how we behave. In our sessions, every part of you is welcome.

Offering both in-person and telehealth appointments in East Rochester.
As a clinician, my favorite quote is "shame dies when stories are told in safe places" (-Anna Voskamp), and this is what guides my practice. Maybe you often find yourself thinking that “there must be something wrong with me”, that nobody understands, or maybe you feel weighed down by guilt, shame or self-doubt. Often, the clients I work with express frustration over feeling "stuck" or unable to make changes, despite their best efforts. In the therapeutic space, these are not viewed as failures, but responses that make sense when viewed through the lens of trauma, access to resources, and broader cultural messages and expectations.

I have worked with various populations during my career as an LMHC and Private Practitioner. I have over 17 years of experience in working with people with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have particularly worked with individuals struggling with anxiety or social skill concerns in a group or individual setting. I also have extensive experience in working with people that may be in a crisis; assisting families with assessment, behavioral strategies and potential referrals. I have also worked in a hospital setting, where I performed Psychiatric Evaluations on individuals that were in crisis.

Hi & welcome! I work with kids, teens, and their families in East Rochester, offering after-school and evening appointments to better fit busy family schedules. Many of the children and families I support are navigating challenges related to anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. With over a decade of experience working as a school counselor, I’m especially comfortable helping when school stress, behavior, and emotions start to overlap—whether that looks like school avoidance, frequent meltdowns or social struggles.

Clients can choose from a variety of support methods, beyond the traditional face to face session.
Often people interested in therapy are stuck or overwhelmed by a problem they have been trying to resolve. Sometimes the problem is not even clear. Yet, almost always the goal is relief from the struggle along with a sense of some mastery over the problem. Having studied both philosophy and psychology for many years, coupled with my history as an Executive Coach, my goal is to provide a broad range of tools and support so that the therapeutic experience brings about relief and a sense of success.

I love this work, because people's lives are so interesting! When people run into a snag, I can help. Working with individuals, couples, & families, I look at both the immediate concerns, as well as the 'big picture' of where it fits into their lives. Session one is a consultation opportunity to meet and learn a bit about each other. Do you feel comfortable with me as you tell me what's brought you here? As I listen, I think about how I can help. If it's a good match, we can make a plan for treatment.

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions.
With over seven years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating trauma, adversity and other life stressors, I have witnessed that trauma and stress are not simply our thoughts but deeply embedded in our minds and bodies, causing impact to the whole person. This understanding has informed my approach through helping individuals regulate their stress response and nervous system and understand underlying needs so they can feel more empowered, grounded and in control of their emotions, thoughts, and reactions. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that change is possible through safe and heard.
