Each of us have faced painful personal experiences. Pain can be due to events, interactions with others or troubled relationships. Or they can be caused by negative behavior or thought patterns that won’t stop. Sometimes we can address such troubles on their own. However, if you have been unable to resolve difficult issues alone, you may realize how they reduce the quality of your life – by establishing a pattern of emotional problems, an inability to interact productively with others, impacting your career, negatively affect relationships, or create problematic habits. But they can be addressed with help. My hours are M-F 8-4

I understand how difficult it can be for some to ask for help. Whether you're considering entering therapy for the first time, or have prior experience, the first priority is on developing a sense of safety in the therapy session. Once a trusting connection is developed, I allow the client to identify their own goals. I believe therapy is about change, but the type of change we work toward and the pace with which we work, is determined by the client. I provide support and guidance in this process.

Accepting New Clients. Authentic, respectful, accepting: I offer a therapeutic relationship and evidence-based treatment to help you live your best life. I believe that unresolved issues and problems have the power to control the direction of our lives and cause real pain. This pain can take the form of depression, anxiety, trouble regulating emotion, sleep problems and poor self esteem. Problems in relationships as well as coming to terms with loss can often be the hardest ones. Difficulties at work and questioning career choice are other important areas of our life that can be negatively effected.

I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. It is often hard for us to accept help due to society’s belief that we should “handle it” on our own. These unhelpful thinking patterns impact how we interact in our relationships, as well as how we process things as they are happening. I strive to work with clients through the hard times while making the process as enjoyable as possible. We can get caught in bad relationships, trauma cycles, grudges, and anger.

Finally, you left the office after another long day. This should be when you can take a deep breath and relax, but it’s not. The day’s stress is still with you, and you have no way to shut it off. And in some ways, this is more comfortable for you. You’ve spent so long training yourself to ignore your own needs that it’s easier to stay focused on everyone and everything else. But lately, you’ve begun to wonder what it’s all for. You see other people enjoying full lives. Meanwhile, you’re stuck in this narrow existence. You love your career, but there must be more to life than this. Now is the time to make a change.

Therapy can be scary and I understand how overwhelming it may feel to begin the treatment process. Therefore, it is my goal to create a safe, comfortable and judgement free environment for each of my clients. Together, it is my hope to build a trusting, therapeutic relationship to support each client's healing and growth. I believe that it is my role as a therapist to allow each client to be heard and to guide them through the change process in a way that makes sense for them. I use a person-centered approach to therapy and a combination of mindfulness, cognitive behaviorial therapy (CBT), and problem solving treatment.

You don’t have to explain yourself here. This is a space where your story, your truth, and your full self are welcome. I work with adults who are exploring who they are, how they relate to others, and how early family dynamics continue to shape their present-day experiences—with a focus on mood concerns, relationship patterns, and life transitions. My practice centers Black and LGBTQ+ experiences, but all identities are welcome and affirmed here. My approach is interpersonal, emotion-focused, and trauma-informed. I’m curious about your patterns, your relationships, and the parts of your story that may still feel unresolved.
