This pain can take the form of depression, anxiety, trouble regulating emotion, sleep problems and poor self esteem.
Therapy with me will have the power to help you take control of your life by coping better and feeling better on a daily basis. This could mean learning new skills and/or looking at the direction of your life in new ways. It could also mean exploring troubles from the past that still cause you pain and keep you from feeling your best and being at peace.

Each of us have faced painful personal experiences. Pain can be due to events, interactions with others or troubled relationships. Or they can be caused by negative behavior or thought patterns that won’t stop. Sometimes we can address such troubles on their own. However, if you have been unable to resolve difficult issues alone, you may realize how they reduce the quality of your life – by establishing a pattern of emotional problems, an inability to interact productively with others, impacting your career, negatively affect relationships, or create problematic habits. But they can be addressed with help. My hours are M-F 8-4

I work with clients who are struggling with depression, self esteem, and relationships due to struggles with identity or lack of support for their authentic selves.
When you go through hardships in life, the world can begin to feel small and limiting, leaving you feeling stuck, lonely, anxious, or depressed. Being in this place can affect your relationship with yourself, your loved ones, your workplace, and the world around you. It can be difficult to live up to your full potential or have the fulfilling relationships that you need to feel good when past experiences have colored the way you see yourself and the world. Sometimes it can feel like you are stuck in a story you don't want to be in, and that no one, including yourself, is able to see who you truly are and what you are capable of.

Looking for a therapist is awkward. You already decided to call a professional, and yet the process feels impersonal and stressful. Maybe anxiety flares when you try to dial the phone, or your depression convinces you it’s not worth the effort. Then the "what if’s" show-up. What if they judge me? What if I fall apart and can’t put myself back together? What if this doesn't help? These are valid concerns and finding a therapist who you connect with might seem impossible. Feeling comfortable, safe, and connected to a therapist is not only your right, it's good treatment and my first priority.

We receive many messages from our loved ones and society about who we are and who we should be. These messages can make us feel stifled and pressured to conform to others' expectations to fit in or feel worthy. It is isolating and painful when our true selves don't align with others' expectations. This pain can cause us to hold negative beliefs about ourselves, isolate ourselves from others, and avoid trying new things. This pain keeps us from embracing our life, relationships, and ourselves. The path to embracing your authentic self starts here.

This is the MOMENT; this is YOUR space to HEAL. I'm a Latinx therapist who strongly believes that we all need/want someone to empower, validate and actively listen to us in an empathic/genuine way. I recognize that opening up about our emotional concerns/pain, and being vulnerable to someone else is not an easy thing to commit to. My main goal is to provide a space, where you feel safe to share your life experiences, thoughts, and emotions. My work is driven by a non-judgmental, compassionate, and integrative approach that will be tailored and focused on your needs and goals as a unique individual for your healing journey.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
