I understand how difficult it can be for some to ask for help. Whether you're considering entering therapy for the first time, or have prior experience, the first priority is on developing a sense of safety in the therapy session. Once a trusting connection is developed, I allow the client to identify their own goals. I believe therapy is about change, but the type of change we work toward and the pace with which we work, is determined by the client. I provide support and guidance in this process.

You might be first-gen or a child of immigrants carrying two sets of expectations; a student or early-career professional navigating anxiety, perfectionism, grief, or big life changes; a caregiver who’s “on” for everyone else; or someone who identifies with traits of a personality disorder ( intense emotions, relationship swings, identity confusion). You want steadier moods, clearer boundaries, and relationships that feel safer—and you want tools that actually work in real life.

My practice focuses on helping individuals in their 20s through 50s with anxeity, addiction, or anger issues.
Feeling anxious all the time is such a crippling feeling and can feel like there is no escaping it. Just when one anxious thought starts to go away, another one shows up and takes its place. It can feel like an endless cycle of racing thoughts, worry, and fear about anything and everything. It’s hard to know when the anxiety will be over especially living in an anxiety-inducing world that is constantly changing which in turn leads to more anxiety. If this sounds like you, you're not alone!

You finally left the office after another long day. This should be when you can take a deep breath and relax, but it’s not. The day’s stress is still with you, and you have no way to shut it off. And in some ways, this is more comfortable for you. You’ve spent so long training yourself to ignore your own needs that it’s easier to stay focused on everyone and everything else. But lately, you’ve begun to wonder what it’s all for. You see other people enjoying full lives. Meanwhile, you’re stuck in this narrow existence. You love your career, but there must be more to life than this. Now is the time to make a change.

Most of my practice has included work with individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse.
Do you understand your patterns but still feel stuck? Anxiety, avoidance, or self-doubt may be your nervous system’s way of protecting you after stress or trauma. In therapy, we gently explore these patterns and work to reshape them. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) within a trauma-informed, relational approach to help you challenge negative thoughts, shift core beliefs, and build emotional regulation. We also consider sleep, movement, and nutrition to support whole-person healing. You don’t have to do this alone.

Is it hard for you to believe that you can be happy? I define happiness as overall life contentment. I believe that your happiness is attainable and this is why I am a life coach. The ability to be happy is a skill. Good coaches have studied the game and learned skills and strategies that can be shared to help the team win and individual players self-actualize. In other words, there is help. There are skills and strategies that can be learned and used to find, protect, and experience your own happiness.

I specialize in helping individuals navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, substance use concerns, and periods of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
Starting therapy can bring up a mix of emotions. That’s completely normal. One of my priorities is helping you feel comfortable and informed from the very beginning. Knowing what to expect often makes the process feel less overwhelming and more manageable.

Addiction Therapists
What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
