Individuals come for therapy because they’ve stopped wanting anything and can barely drag themselves out of bed; They might be worked up about something and can't concentrate or sleep at night; They don't know what they want or don't want to want what they want. They cling to relationships that go badly. They place obstacles in their own way. Parents worry about their children. Couples struggle with all of these things.

My life work is to bring to you the possibility of being able to live a full life, in work and relationships. In my 30 years of practice, I have worked with people in private practice, inpatient and partial hospital settings, and schools. My typical client is someone who is working to meet the challenges of transition, such as going to college, getting married, divorced, changing careers, losing employment, dealing with the death of a loved one, or experiencing very difficult unpredictable events. I see continuing education as being extremely valuable. I am continuously deepening my learning through additional training and reading.

Hi. Whoever you are, whatever your struggles, I want to remind you that you're capable of more than you know. There's no shortage of difficulty in the world, and it's easy to be overtaken by stress, anxiety, depression, and more- and there's no shame in this, pain is as old as time. But I encourage you to take the next steps in fighting back. So give me a call or email. Even if you don't feel ready to make "big" changes, let's chat.

Many people come to therapy uncertain of what they need to feel better. But they know they're hungry for deeper meaning in life, to understand their inner world and discover a self they can love. You may have experienced emotional wounding as a child, feel caught in self-destructive patterns or low self esteem. Perhaps you're searching for purpose or a sense of belonging. Your life may feel marred by co-dependency, anxiety, shame or hopelessness. Maybe you simply need a place to feel seen and understood. Our work together can help you uncover your deepest needs and teach you to regard yourself with compassion and insight.

Welcome! I'm Tami, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over six years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship patterns, and major life transitions. I work with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected — those who are ready to make real, lasting change but haven't found the right support yet. I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent adults, women, and those

Currently accepting new clients! You may look like you are doing fine on the outside but feel anxious, frustrated, or unsettled on the inside. Many of the people I work with feel stuck repeating the same relationship patterns, overthinking their choices, or losing themselves while trying to keep others comfortable. My work focuses on slowing things down, understanding what is really happening beneath the surface, and helping you make changes that feel possible rather than overwhelming.

Have you spent your life trying to feel “enough”? Always the helper, the strong one, the fixer—until you're exhausted. If you grew up around addiction, neglect, or chaos, you may still be stuck in old survival roles: people-pleasing, over-responsibility, hiding your needs. Addiction affects everyone it touches—and over time, we lose ourselves trying to save someone else. You may be over functioning, trying to hold it all together and too drained to show up for your own life. It’s called codependent behaviors, and like addiction, it thrives on denial. But there is a way forward. Healing starts when you begin focusing on you.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
