I have extensive training and expertise in Gestalt therapy and the Psychoanalytic approach.
I believe that people’s behavior and mind are highly complex and, therefore, require a complex approach to develop self-awareness that translates into sustainable change. The therapeutic process needs time and patience before the shift of perception will be noticed. I understand therapy as fine-tuning between theoretical approaches, patient needs, genuine care, a non-judgmental environment, trust, and collaboration.

You hold it together on the outside — but inside, it’s a swirl of anxiety, grief, anger, or exhaustion. Maybe you’re navigating postpartum struggles, fertility heartbreak, perimenopause shifts, body image battles, or the emotional wreckage of infidelity. You miss feeling like yourself — or maybe you’re still figuring out who that even is now. I offer a supportive space where you can process, reset, and reconnect with your strength. You don’t have to do this alone.

Why you suffer may not be obvious; the pain is real, its reasons may be not. To find them out, the difficult, but rewarding work of a psychoanalysis is needed. As your analyst, I will help you identify the forms and the logic of your suffering and, as a result, your reality will begin to change. Many things may be inevitable, but not useless, excessive suffering. The latter can be fundamentally changed, if properly addressed.

The most inspiring part of being a mental health provider is taking a role in the transformation and resilience of a person’s story as they face their mental health challenges. Witnessing the ability to regain inner strength, control over their lives, develop hope, and have the capacity to try has been gratifying both professionally and personally. I choose to continue specializing in mental health and make my compassion, kindness, dedication, and skills available to more individuals who allow me the opportunity to gain their trust and be their provider.

The way the world treats us greatly influences the way we see ourselves. Life's transitions greatly impacts on our own sense of self. We all experience emotional conflict, how we cope impacts on our sense of well being.

I integrate rational emotive behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychoanalytic/dynamic techniques in treatment and I approach therapy with the assumption that it is an open, creative, and collaborative process that involves analyzing more than just symptoms and sequela, but the whole person.
I have performed short and long-term work with individuals, couples, and their collaterals in various settings. I conduct therapy by weaving my skills in psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and theology. My clients and I begin by agreeing on a definition of therapy and agreeing on the their goals for the therapeutic process.

I am licensed in NY and NJ, I have a one-year training certificate in psychoanalysis, and am currently in a five-year psychoanalytic training program.
I believe that healing happens as we experience healing relationships. In our time together, we will work to build a trusting therapeutic alliance. The therapeutic process can be a mirror for how you show up for yourself and navigate your personal relationships — as we build safety and capacity in the therapy room, you may simultaneously realize that you hold much more safety and capacity within yourself. Together, we will work to find your inner sense of self-compassion, curiosity, and new ways to transcend the obstacles that are holding you back.

Psychoanalytic Therapists

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?

Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?

Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?

Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?

Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
