I whole-heartedly believe in the concept of “Feel then Heal.” Together, we can explore what is going on that is preventing you from living the life you want to live and cultivate solutions that realistically fit your life. I take a strength-based approach to counseling and believe you already possess the answers you need to become the best version of yourself, and that it is simply my job to help you find them. We can explore the thought patterns that may be preventing you from being able to move towards your goals and actively begin thinking about situations in a more positive way.

In my eight years of postgraduate mental health experience, I have gathered a deep understanding that every person is the expert of their own lived experience, which I believe is essential to building connections in the therapeutic relationship. My unique approach to psychotherapy is all about being open and honest with my clients, so not only do they feel like a part of the process, but are steering the therapeutic ship.

I'm a therapist and if you are suffering from anxiety, depression, or intrusive negative thoughts that are interfering with your life, there is help available to you. The stress from living can become overwhelming at times. This is not necessarily negative, in fact it is an opportunity for growth. Troubling thoughts and emotions are signs that something in your life is out of balance and needs to be addressed. By seeking help and exploring the patterns in your life, you have the ability to not only lessen your suffering, but to become stronger and more resilient in the process. I hope you seize this opportunity for self improvement.

Therapy isn’t about changing who you are—it’s about helping you navigate life with more clarity, confidence, and self-compassion. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly understood. I believe therapy doesn’t have to be rigid or formal—it can be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself. I use humor to build genuine connections and encourage authenticity, making the process feel approachable and empowering. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family and relationship conflicts, life transitions, ADHD, and OCD, among other concerns.

Initiating change in life is hard, but therapy can help you make movement in areas where you have felt stuck. I believe the work we do in therapy is not only about feeling better or gaining insight, but also about feeling whole. While the process can be difficult, it can also be rewarding. I enjoy doing this work with my clients and appreciate being a part of their process. I recognize how difficult it can be to find the right therapist and I’m happy to speak to you by phone for a free consultation. Please email me to arrange a consultation and include your insurance carrier.

Brain full of brilliant ideas, but a life that feels like a hot mess? This is the reality for so many women with ADHD. You know deep down you are a fun, brilliant, and creative person, and you catch glimpses of that best self—moments of excitement, clarity, and ease. But that feeling is elusive, and it always slips away. You are tired of the daily mental struggle, all the people pleasing, and the overshadowing shame. You are ready to stop fighting with yourself and fully allow your creative energy to flow. You want to release the weight of it all and build a life where your inner joy is not only real, but it is finally consistent.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
