After receiving my graduate degree from Boston University, I pursued additional training in trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy, parent /teen mediation, addiction training, and motivational interviewing.
Have you wondered if you would benefit from therapy? I offer a complimentary consultation to discuss any questions you may have. As a senior therapist at Zackson Psychology Group, I enjoy working with children and adolescents that may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral or family issues. You can talk to me about anything; nothing will surprise me. I am accessible to parents and easy to talk to. I focus on your child, recognize their strengths, and develop tools to become their own therapist by learning how to deal with challenges. Clients often feel better early on in treatment.

The decision to begin therapy is rarely easy, but once you begin you may be surprised by the changes that unfold. Finding a therapist who helps you feel safe, supported, and challenged is central to this process. I've been fortunate to work with a wide range of people, including those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, sexual issues, sexual and gender identity exploration, health concerns, artistic blockages, addiction, parenting , and fertility issues.

I work with many people who are going through a life transition, including college students, young professionals, new parents, and separated people who are co- parenting .
I specialize in helping couples, families, and individuals improve the relationships in their lives. Together we will collaborate to create an individualized plan, working in a compassionate environment to better understand what you are experiencing to create change. My specialty in teletherapy was born out of my commitment to make quality therapy accessible to all. Acutely aware of the reality that there are many barriers to consistent therapy, I provide rich short-term and long-term support exclusively via teletherapy.

Acknowledging that you or your child need support is the first step in the therapeutic process. Due to the complex nature of the relationships in our lives, it is often helpful have a neutral person to offer a listening ear, guidance, and to facilitate a process of gaining more insight about yourself. My goal is to support you, your child, and/or your family in your own unique process. I can help you in identifying and regulating emotions, stopping negative thoughts and patterns, overcoming challenges, strengthening relationships and utilizing healthy coping skills. I look forward to connecting with you and/or your child.

I believe that where we came from inevitably affects who we are, but does not need to define or constrain us in perpetuity. I want to understand where you’re coming from and where you want to go. My job is to listen, to try to understand how you see the world, and help you understand what patterns may hold you back. I am warm, humorous, thoughtful and patient. Our time together is yours and nothing is out of bounds. I hope to create a safe space where we can creatively look at your life and try to understand your concerns, doubts, fears and triumphs.

*MOBILE THERAPY SERVICE* When traditional 'mental health' services are not meeting your needs-CALL. This could be a result from a medical condition, limitations to transportation, or many other reasons that pose a barrier to meeting your emotional support needs in an office. Mobile Therapy is a way to have the service come to you and allow you the ability to mold the service in a way that would be most convenient for you. I view the therapeutic process as a journey, to achieve goals, improve your life for the better and feel that therapy should be catered to your needs.

It is easy to become overwhelmed by the sadness, anger, or anxiety we experience. During these times we often feel uncertain and insecure. My goal is to help you find balance and to restore a sense of control and inner strength. I believe it is important to listen and to be supportive as well as to provide guidance as you explore where you have been, where you are and where you hope to go. I believe it is important for you to set realistic and reasonable expectations of yourself as well as others. And to develop the communication skills that will allow you to share your thoughts and feelings in healthy and appropriate ways.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
