Do you struggle with your relationship to food and your body in ways that affect your daily life? Maybe you’re navigating a major life transition, like becoming a parent, and feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure where to turn. You might find yourself wondering if life could feel more grounded, joyful, and connected. In a world that often feels chaotic and lacking in meaningful support, it’s easy to feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, disconnection, or self-criticism. But healing is possible.

The experience of suffering is unique for each individual and deserving of respect and attention. I work to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can speak openly and be heard. Using language as our medium, I listen closely and with curiosity to hear your questions, fears, and desires. I wonder with you in a collaborative process how your narratives have been formed and intervene to support revisions, bringing you into greater alignment with your history and personal truths. Putting words to experience lays the groundwork for greater mental freedom and lasting change to take place.

As a trauma therapist focused on narcissistic abuse, I prefer using a combination of "EMDR" both virtual and in person, with Richard Schwartz's IFS/Parts Work.
I am a very experienced trauma therapist, specializing in treating young adults suffering from PTSD, abuse in narcissistic relationships, codependency, break ups, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ issues, divorce, and work place problems, using cognitive behavioral work, EMDR and IFS. My approach is eclectic and interactive, blending a combination of techniques. Non-judgment and warmth in a holistic frame describes my style. I also am trained in ADHD coaching, NLP, hypnosis, and other modalities designed for you to develop better coping skills. This is not a cookie cutter approach. It is a treatment custom made to meet your needs.

Whether by phone or in person, we can get right to work.
Not sure that you need therapy? Instead, I can offer Life Coaching, Peer Support, or Case Management. I will work to help you manage whichever personal crises you have. Solution-Focused Practice (SFP), a model often used by non-psychologists (such as social workers, coaches, and sociologists) to help individuals build on their strengths and create a preferred future without engaging in pathology-based, long-term psychotherapy. I do not accept insurance, so to keep costs down, instead of maintaining an office, I make home visits. We can also meet in the community or speak by phone.

If you’re on this site, I imagine you’re not okay and really hoping for some help. I know well, life can be super hard! I’m not going to guess what it is that brings you here, except something (or many things) feels too overwhelming to deal with on your own. What’s just as hard is feeling alone. It doesn’t always feel safe to go to the people in your life … maybe they won’t get it, or they just aren’t getting you. Maybe you seem great from the outside and maybe you don’t. Either way, you deserve to be seen and heard and respected and helped!

Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I stand by the commitment, “I’m here with you.” I believe that each of our stories are equally sacred as they are unique and see therapy as an opportunity to cultivate curiosity for ourselves and to let go of self-judgement. Taking a Psychodynamic approach, I aim to help my clients unravel, experience, and understand themselves more deeply, through building awareness, flexibility, and the capacity to make change. Humor, authenticity, and the willingness to experiment is foundational to my approach.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
