Although I like to use different modalities to match the client's specific need, I find the therapy modalities I use most often are both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Are you ready to take back control of your life? Don't be shy. Although I work predominantly with children and adolescents, I truly have a passion for working with anyone who is ready to gain control back. I have worked with clients who have suffered from a variety of mental health and substance use issues. In addition, I have worked with client who are struggling with finances, grief and loss, chronic medical concerns, and relationship stressors. My goal is offer support, teach skills, and work towards achieving their identified goals.

Always the next step.” - Brandon Sanderson                                                                                                                         Therapy is challenging and vulnerable work. In my office comfort and safety are high priorities to create a space where folks can bring their honest burdens to a productive space. I also value my clients walking away from therapy with a much greater understanding of their internal experience, and a broad toolkit they can continue using long after we've completed therapy.

— Immediate Openings Available! — I work with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and feelings of disconnection or low self-worth. Many feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them or overwhelmed by life’s demands and relationships. They may be seeking relief from emotional pain, clarity in their identity, or a deeper understanding of how their past and environment shape their present.

A typical treatment plan may involve EMDR, parts work, somatic and polyvagal techniques, and practical tools from Schema Therapy and DBT.
Have you ever felt like your mind knows you’re safe, but your body hasn't received the message yet? True, lasting change happens when we move beyond just talking and begin to listen to the language of your nervous system. As an EMDR Consultant, I’ve seen how traditional talk therapy can sometimes feel like running in circles. You might understand why you feel the way you do, but the heavy weight of the past still feels physically present. My approach is different: I integrate EMDR and Natural Processing to help you gently bridge that gap between your thoughts and your physical sense of peace.

My training includes Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, and Seeking Safety, along with a number of other evidence-based treatment modalities.
I have worked in the human services field for over 20 years and have been a licensed social worker since 2010. Throughout that time, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds as they navigate a wide range of life challenges. Many of the individuals I have worked with have experienced traumas that have led to struggles with either their emotional/mental well being and/or substance use. I deeply believe that regardless of the struggles people experience, everyone is capable of being a better version of themself and building a quality of life that gives them meaning and purpose.

I am an EMDR practitioner that utilizes Schema therapy, IFS and DBT to address the unique challenges of each client.
Each client presents with their own unique set of needs and challenges relative to the environments they were raised in. What many identify as disorders or dysfunction I view as necessary adaptations to environmental stressors. Within the context of that thinking people need to be able to function and manage their lives in a way that provides space for healing, happiness and love. I believe that what people desire most is to be seen, to live autonomously with self determination, and to feel connected to something greater than themselves, be it a cause, a community, an organization or God.

I am intensely trained in EMDR, and I hold additional training in DBT, Gottman Method, and Perinatal Mood Disorders.
Healing from adversity can feel scary, unfamiliar, and daunting. In my therapy practice, I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive space for individuals to heal and grow. Oftentimes, when we experience trauma and other life changes, we develop coping skills that aid in our survival, but that may presently pose barriers. In embarking on this journey to healing and breaking difficult patterns, we can work together to help you develop self-compassion, improve relationships, and transform your pain into power.

Life can be challenging, often at the most inopportune times. Anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship struggles, or significant stress; it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. But you don’t have to figure it out alone. Counseling offers a space to slow down, reflect, and work through what’s holding you back with someone who’s there to support and guide you. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on beneath the surface and build the tools you need to move forward with clarity and confidence.

I know that taking the first step toward focusing on yourself can feel overwhelming — and even a little scary. But you don't have to figure it out alone. I am here to offer a warm, comfortable, and compassionate space where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to heal. My approach is rooted in partnership — I won't simply sit across from you and offer advice, but rather walk alongside you every step of the way, at a pace that feels right for you.

I use a blend of practical tools tailored to your needs: EMDR to help your brain process and 'file away' painful memories so they no longer trigger you, DBT, a concrete toolkit for managing intense emotions, and MI to help find clarity when stuck.
Finding a space where you don’t have to explain or defend your identity is the first step toward healing. Perhaps you’re navigating the complexities of coming out, managing the weight of minority stress, or trying to process past traumas that still feel 'loud' in your daily life. You deserve a therapist who truly 'gets it' and provides a soft place to land. My style is collaborative, direct, and deeply affirming. I believe therapy is a partnership where your lived experience is respected and your goals are the priority. We’ll work together to build the resilience you already possess and create the peace of mind you deserve.

Feeling anxious all the time is such a crippling feeling and can feel like there is no escaping it. Just when one anxious thought starts to go away, another one shows up and takes its place. It can feel like an endless cycle of racing thoughts, worry, and fear about anything and everything. It’s hard to know when the anxiety will be over especially living in an anxiety-inducing world that is constantly changing which in turn leads to more anxiety. If this sounds like you, you're not alone!

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
