With over 14 years of experience, I help adults, teens, and families navigate anxiety, stress, and life transitions.
I bring over 14 years of private practice experience and have served as Director of Long Island Anxiety Care for nearly a decade. My work spans community clinics, inpatient psychiatric units, court-involved programs, and private practice. My primary focus is helping individuals overcome anxiety, phobias, and OCD using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also work closely with couples struggling conflict, communication breakdowns, and relationship stress, helping partners build healthier patterns, reduce distress, and feel more connected and confident together.

Struggling with anxiety, obsessive thinking, depressive thinking, self-doubt, or perfectionism?
You don’t have to stay stuck in overthinking, self-criticism, or constant pressure to “get it right.”
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I take a humanistic, solution-focused, and practical approach to therapy. Together, we focus on:
• Reducing anxiety and obsessive thinking
• Challenging unhelpful thought patterns
• Improving emotional regulation
• Building confidence and self-acceptance
• Developing skills that continue to work long after therapy ends

Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing, I create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their emotions, build effective coping strategies, and regain a sense of control over their lives.

Finding your way through a major life change can feel like navigating through a fog. At Golden Hour Therapy, I provide a warm, grounded space where we can slow down and focus on what is working, rather than just what feels broken. I believe that even in our darkest or most chaotic moments, there is a golden hour, a window of clarity and strength that we can tap into together.

I provide an empathetic and safe space where my clients can reveal anything without fear of judgement. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression and I do this by helping my clients to reframe negative thoughts. I also provide suggestions on a variety of tools and coping skills that may be beneficial. In addition, I have experience working with clients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This requires a bit of a different approach than other anxiety disorders, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) where you stay present in the moment and allow the thoughts rather than avoid or fight them.

As humans, we often find ourselves stuck in the same cycles—whether it’s distorted thinking, avoidance, or emotional outbursts. Therapy is the process of understanding why we do what we do. Together, we will explore how your upbringing, past trauma, and even evolution shape your current reality. Using a blend of CBT, DBT, and ACT, we will develop practical skills to reframe your thoughts, navigate uncomfortable emotions, and communicate more effectively with those in your life.
I practice under the clinical supervision of Elizabeth DeGrocco, LCSW. Let’s help you thrive.

Many individuals and families come to us feeling unsure where to begin. Their child may have trouble with communication, social skills, or daily routines, and they want real help not a one-size-fits-all plan. They’re looking for a safe space, trusted professionals, and clear next steps. We focus on practical progress, celebrating every milestone, and helping families feel confident about their child’s future. We do the same for adults, establishing goals and steadily achieving them so they may improve in areas of life they may feel insecure about.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
