Waitlisting except for new Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy clients. I’m a master therapist and EMDRIA-approved trainer specializing in KAP, a transformative modality using expanded states of awareness for deep healing, emotional release, and integration. I help clients recognize how trauma, conditioning, and survival roles have shaped disconnection from their true nature—and guide them back to who they are at their core: awake, kind, and free. My work draws from EMDR, parts-based therapy, Buddhist psychology, ACT, and contemplative practice. Alongside my clinical work, I also mentor and train therapists in these integrative models.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with over 30 years of experience in solo private practice, teaching and service in the community. Having a relationship with my patients and taking care of them are central in my work. Perhaps because of my background in the arts (dance), I also deeply value the creative yet disciplined use of self and an active authentic engagement in the therapeutic process. I specialize in the treatment of adolescents and young adults (18-25). I also treat individuals, couples, and families who struggle with transitional issues throughout the life cycle.

Are you having a hard time relating to your partner? Are you communicating but it seems as if nothing is changing? Do you desire better communication or want to enhance intimacy? Are you stressed about things continually happening in your life? Does dealing with things seem to be just too hard to do? Would you like to begin to feel as if you have some sense of control again? I understand that dealing with various life events, relationships, traumas, and even one’s own self can be overwhelming. These (seemingly minor) events can contribute to emotional issues that affect one’s health and general well-being. *New clients-June 2021

Worry, sadness, and uncertainty are natural responses to feeling that parts of your life are out of your control. Regaining balance with anxiety or depression often feels like it requires giving up something else: time with family, friends, hobbies, or last night's sleep. While dark humor, caffeine, and willpower may get you far, you shouldn’t have to give up the best parts of your life to just survive. No matter how you got here you're the expert on yourself. My responsibility is to listen and create a supportive space where you feel empowered to change.

Do you ever feel alone or that you are the only one to feel this way? There is no reason for you to suffer. Everyone experiences troubles in their life and I want to help you! My passion is in understanding where you are today and guiding you to where you want to be next. You may be angry, sad, confused, indifferent, or just "numb." You may even believe that you will never feel safe and happy again. But you can and you will. Whatever you bring to me we can work together to find the right solution for you.

Sometimes you can feel like you're trying your hardest and an invisible hand is holding you back. It doesn't mean you're weak, or failing, or unworthy of good things-it just means you could use some help. It helps to connect with someone who knows that your stories are worth listening to. I will hear your story. Easy-going, friendly, empathic, and non-judgmental, I enjoy working with pre-teens, teenagers, and adults who are moving through those difficult life transitions where a person can feel lost. We can find the answers together.

Many of the people I work with appear to be managing just fine, yet feel disconnected or alone. They’re caring for others, navigating transitions, and quietly questioning if they’re “enough.” In a world that feels increasingly polarized and isolating, these feelings often deepen around changes in body, identity, or relationships. Together, we create space to slow down, notice what your body is communicating, and reconnect with a steadier sense of self—moving beyond coping toward grounded, mindful connection.

You took the first step. You started looking up help. Let's get started and if doesn't work in my office, I'll help find the right therapist for you. It's hard to regret small steps taken with good intention and minimal hope. Let's get you feeling better.

I imagine you found your way here because you're looking for change— change in a relationship, change in your habits, or change in how you handle anxiety, sadness or stress. Maybe you have had enough of Coronavirus and need to figure out how to cope until life feels normal again. Whatever you need, my job first and foremost is to listen. You're the expert on yourself. I'm here to help you figure out the parts of you (and of life) that can be hard to manage.

Life can be a tumultuous journey, full of ups, downs, and unpredictable twists and turns. Even when life begins to settle, our own minds can create upheaval and send us spinning into chaos once again. It can be like this for all of us, and no one should have to trudge through it on their own. At it's worst, we can feel completely broken, stuck, ashamed, lost, and we suffer. You are not alone, and you no longer need to feel alone in your struggle. Whether it is life transitions, relationships, the past, depression, anxieties, or whatever has you stuck or spiraling at this time, you have come to the right place.

Seeking help is a courageous step. If you've spent time in traditional therapy, you've likely made valuable progress. But if talk, insight, and coping haven’t led to lasting change, it may be time for a different approach. I often work with clients who come from families where boundaries were unclear, emotions were misunderstood, connection felt conditional, or abuse was mistaken for love. These challenges run deep, creating patterns of reactivity, anxiety, depression, and painful relationship dynamics. By addressing the root cause, we break cycles of suffering and move beyond mere coping to true healing.

Everyone deserves time and space to explore and better understand their thoughts, feelings, reactions and behaviors, and to experience inner peace and joy. It is an honor to share space with someone interested in growth and healing. Once we can better understand our past experiences and how they affect us in the present, we have more choices and can make adjustments in our life as we see fit. I believe that you know what is best and have the answers. Through the therapy process, and safely delving into those hurt places, those answers will come to light and help you figure out the best way to care for yourself.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
