I primarily work with individuals and couples seeking sex therapy, and offer a variety of techniques including somatic experiencing, narrative therapy, EMDR and specialize in transgender, gender non-conforming, and non binary communities, as well as queer, poly, kink, and sex-positivity.
We are all being tested uniquely, and as members of families and communities, in how we show up right here and right now to meet the challenges of this world we have inherited. And to face these challenges, you have gotten this far powered by your own unique brand of survival. Whether you are feeling stuck in your relationship(s), feeling hopeless and disheartened about the state of our species, or finding the weight of your grief too heavy to bear alone, know there is a great deal of strength inside you, and I hope we can unlock it together.

We all go through periods of intense stress, worry, or sadness. If you're finding it difficult to cope, therapy can help you grow through these experiences, toward fulfillment. In my work, I've found that people are most open to exploration and change when they have a partner they trust in that process. When a client brings me their story, we work together to understand it, through trust, humor, creativity, and perseverance.

By the time most people call me, sex has become something to manage: a negotiation, a chore, a secret, or an absence.
Common reasons people come to me: desire differences and mismatched libidos, sex ruts, erectile dysfunction, early ejaculation, orgasm difficulties, painful sex, performance pressure, porn use that's gotten away from you, out-of-control sexual behavior - what many people call sex addiction - sex after infidelity, and negotiating non-monogamy.

I believe that psychotherapy lays the emotional groundwork that leads to a more satisfying and engaged life. Many people mistakenly think of psychotherapy as one-sided: the person in therapy talks and the therapist listens. But effective psychotherapy - therapy that heals - works because of the unique relationship that develops between the therapist and the person in therapy. I provide an environment - safe and non-judgemental - that facilitates opening up in new and often unexpected ways and helps you experience and express deepest thoughts and feelings. I have particular experience working with gay men, HIV issues, substance abuse and sexual addiction.

I offer a unique and creative, therapeutic approach that is influenced by trauma informed care, harm reduction, intersectionality, sex-positivity and body liberation.
People come to therapy for a variety of different reasons. Some individuals embark on a therapeutic process with specific goals in mind or because they have recently been impacted by particularly challenging life events. Others may pursue therapy and specifically creative arts psychotherapy as an on-going process toward deeper self-knowledge, growth, and healing. I offer individuals and couples an approach that is holistic, client-centered, non-judgmental and creative through traditional talk therapy, creative arts infused therapy, and often a synthesis of the two.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Sex Therapy and work through a trauma informed lens.
As a Jewish American therapist and child of an immigrant, I place the intersections of identity at the forefront of my practice. Identity frames who we are and how we experience the world, as does our upbringing. I work with Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse, teaching clients how this type of trauma can lead to isolation, guilt, shame, sexual problems, depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, and so much more. I can help you break free from the hold your past abuse still has on you today. Together we can explore new interventions and tools, develop new skills, and rewrite your narrative. You deserve this!

I have a focus in sex therapy and am passionate about working with those struggling sexually, those in the LGBTQ+ community, and those in any non-traditional relationship structure.
I work with my clients to identify the patterns they’re stuck in, what is maintaining them, and how to begin to do things differently. I provide a safe, validating, and compassionate space for this exploration. Although I pay particular attention to emotion, I also include intervention in the realms of thought, behavior, and body for a holistic approach.

I’ve spent the past 15 years working in mental health and supporting clients through challenges with sex and sexuality, depression, anxiety, relationships & boundaries, self-esteem, and explorations of gender identity.
In our work together, I draw on modern psychodynamic and relational approaches as well as my formal training in EMDR and Sex Therapy. Ultimately, what matters most to me is cultivating a space where you feel understood and supported. Therapy is a place to tap into your own wisdom, make sense of patterns, and build new possibilities.

Sex Therapy
Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
