I provide a safe, accepting environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in the process of healing and becoming the best versions of themselves. My clients are resilient- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time is exhausting, and it's okay to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving. My clients ultimately achieve a healthier relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.

Well-being is a practice. So, if you're not experiencing fulfillment or are feeling unsuccessful in areas of your life; you simply need a personalized formula to practice. So, the question is, "Are you ready to practice?" You'll learn to clarify your values and beliefs; which are the foundations of your decision making. Decisions that stem from your values will bring you peace and clarity. Decisions that stem from FEAR or old unhealthy patterns will bring you conflict and confusion. It's that simple. We'll also use research-based techniques; like brainspotting and
Mindfulness
to release patterns and rewire the brain for success.

We all have enormous potential for growth and self-actualization. As we move through life, many of us will encounter experiences which impair our sense of safety, our confidence, and our innate capacity to explore, connect to others, and to fully become our best, whole selves. My goal is to be present to help you find insight into problematic patterns of behavior, enhance the ability to take perspective, and the necessary steps toward your desired goals. I strive to create a safe holding space for my clients through respect, compassion, and understanding, where you can openly process and begin the journey to self-actualizing.

Said mental health issues may include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma as they can also manifest in anger management issues, self esteem concerns, difficulties with life transitions, relationship/intimacy concerns, imposter syndrome or more.

I utilize modalities such as dreamwork,
mindfulness
, body-based, psychodynamic and cognitive/behavioral therapy.
The fundamental core of my practice is the belief that each individual has the capacity for wisdom, growth and change with respect to his/her own life. I trust that the potential that is necessary for change is within each person, but this capacity may not always be evident or accessible. As a clinician, I believe that one of the most important components of psychotherapy is having an atmosphere which is supportive, patient, validating and compassionate. I approach my patients with integrity and a commitment to help you create a higher quality of life that resonates with your true self.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
