Do you feel stuck in therapy, wondering why things aren’t shifting the way you hoped? Maybe no matter how much insight you gain, your emotions still hijack your life, leaving you exhausted. It’s frustrating when you’re doing everything “right” and still feel stuck. If you’re looking for a different kind of therapy, you’re in the right place. Deep patterns of anxiety, stress, and emotional turmoil don’t just live in the mind—they live in the body. Healing isn’t about trying harder; it’s about going deeper. When we engage the whole mind-body system, real transformation happens, and you can move beyond just coping to truly thriving.

I am Japanese and have been living in the United States for nearly 40 years.
As an immigrant, I understand how difficult it can be to cross cultural boundaries, particularly when coming from a background that discourages talking about personal feelings. As a mother of two children, I can also sympathize with the many challenges that face families today such as infertility, parenting, relationship issues and finance.

I like creativity in therapy. And see therapy as a process. Although I know various techniques and am Gestalt-focused, I believe that it is you and I together who create and discover the unique path that moves you toward the place that you want to be.
Each client has an existing energy and power of his or her own which will lead to a more meaningful life. We may lose access to or come to doubt that power at some point in life. I help clients re-connect to and access that power.

"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." ~Aristotle~ Talking about your struggles with your close friends and family members can be helpful. But, often, additional support and outside perspective also can help you view those issues in a new light and gain deeper understanding of your challenges. My therapeutic work focuses on what each person wants to achieve through therapy. Some strive to reduce anxiety and lift depression. Others seek therapeutic help for non-mental issues and everyday concerns such as relationships, work, low self-esteem, and dissatisfaction in life.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in the same relationship patterns—whether in romantic relationships, family, friendships, or work. You may find yourself overthinking interactions, people-pleasing, feeling unseen, struggling to set boundaries, or carrying resentment, confusion, or self-doubt in relationships that matter to you.
In therapy, we’ll explore where these patterns come from, and make sense of the ways your past experiences still show up in your present relationships, so you can respond with more clarity, choice, and self-trust rather than old survival patterns.

I work with adults from diverse and often bicultural backgrounds who are navigating personal challenges—whether within themselves, their families, or relationships. Balancing your needs with the expectations of loved ones and cultural norms can be overwhelming. It may lead to anxiety, isolation, or depression. At times, it’s easy to lose sight of who you are. Therapy offers a supportive space to explore these feelings and reconnect with yourself. While family and friends may have strong opinions, therapy centers your voice. I’m here to listen, support, and help you build tools to move toward your goals—on your terms.

It is my strong belief that the systems we navigate directly impact our mental health and well-being, and that through recognition and critical consciousness of these influences, we can radically free ourselves. My therapeutic approach borrows from Freirean thought, acknowledging that individuals are masters of their own experiences and that collaboratively we will liberate each other. I believe growing up multiracial (Chinese; White) and queer positioned me well to see how uniquely multifaceted each person is. In my therapy, we will nurture a nonjudgmental and explorative space centering your growth.
