I am well-equipped to provide consultation, assessment, planning, and therapeutic intervention for individuals with complex needs.
My therapeutic style incorporates a strengths-based approach to build off what is already working for you or going well in your life. I foster an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and intersectional approach in my practice by making sure we first establish our positionality and the power dynamic within the therapeutic alliance. I want our sessions to act as a teaching-learning environment—I have just as much to learn from you as you have from me. We will explore what you want to get out of our sessions and work through any psychoeducation on topics you would like to further understand before moving into the work together.

I am a therapist who got into this field to help individuals. families, and groups identify the issues that impair their functioning. I believe that everyone is looking for someone to not only hear them but show them that they are heard and seen. We are all looking to be heard but we also need to be felt. I know that is one of my skill sets.

You’ve worked hard to build your career, perhaps as a lawyer, doctor, executive, or mental health professional, and by many measures, you’re successful. Yet something still feels “off.” Maybe your relationships feel strained, or your work no longer feels aligned with who you are. You may sense there’s more freedom, connection, or purpose waiting for you, but you’re not sure how to get there.

My ideal client is someone who has been carrying a lot on their own and feels overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in a transition. They may look “fine” on the outside but feel disconnected or unsure on the inside. They want a steady, nonjudgmental space to make sense of their thoughts and emotions, understand their patterns, and feel more grounded. Their goal is to find clarity, balance, and a version of life that actually feels like theirs.

Intervention Therapists
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behavior and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behavior has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.
How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.
What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.
Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
