If you're struggling with OCD or anxiety, you’re in the right place. I'm a trauma-informed psychotherapist specializing in OCD and anxiety-related disorders, and there are few things I love more than helping others find the relief they deserve. I have dedicated the entirety of my practice to treating anxiety, and primarily work with OCD, hoarding, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and eating disorders. I also specialize in supporting individuals with complex trauma histories, especially those who have experienced sexual trauma, familial trauma, and exposure to violence.

I specialize in CBT for anxiety, perfectionism, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and related issues (such as body dysmorphia / BDD, skin picking / body focused repetitive behaviors, hoarding), and emotion dysregulation.
Do you find that difficult emotions lead you to avoid, procrastinate, or steer away from the things that matter most to you? As a clinical psychologist, I can offer another approach: flexibility, self-compassion, and moving towards your values even in the face of emotional distress. Together, we will identify unhelpful patterns that are not working for you and practice new ways of coping that will help you meet your goals. I use evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Waitlist for new clients
I regularly treat depression, anxiety, PTSD/CPTSD, phobias, OCD, hoarding disorder, bipolar disorder, sexual issues (queer/kink/SW-allied), and ADHD.
Choosing a new therapist can be intimidating, whether it’s your first time or you’ve been in therapy forever. I respect this and try to make the process of starting therapy one that feels as comfortable as possible from our first session. I believe the most important part of being human is our ability to empathize with others, and therapy should be a space where we can tell our story and truly feel heard, understood, and validated.

As a therapist, my first priority is to build trust. I understand that your thoughts might be distressing, and you can tell me anything without fear of judgment. I will meet you where you are, treating you as the unique individual you are. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Our deep understanding of its nuances enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received training in Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy (ERP)—the gold standard treatment for OCD. When you start with NOCD, you’ll either work with me or be paired with one of my colleagues, based on your preferences.

I love helping people and seeing the genuine change and transformation they can go through when they work on themselves and learn to face their fears. I know how much OCD can disrupt someone's life and the torture it can put them through. Being able to help people gain freedom from that cycle is very special to me. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for people with OCD. Our understanding of the nuances of OCD enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received training in Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy (ERP)—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

You're the expert in your life. I want to help you explore and expand your sense of calm and empowerment, addressing your physical, spiritual, emotional, philosophical, and social parts. I recognize the importance of acknowledging the past and finding ways to feel more alive in the present. Much of our energy is spent focusing on reacting to external stimulation and making plans for the future. I am here to help cultivate a space and time to listen to and focus on inner experiences, which is mission-critical in changing how we relate to ourselves and the world.

I'm a trans nonbinary therapist who specializes in helping clients navigate OCD, anxiety, and sexual trauma (and often the intersection of all three). I help clients understand that anxiety is not actually an emotion, but a way of avoiding bigger, more unpleasant feelings bubbling beneath the surface. Much of my work consists of helping folks process their grief at the existential nightmare that is the world we live in. Using mind-body therapies like IFS and ERP, I teach clients how to get in touch with these Big Feelings without being swallowed by them.

I am confident that my clients can discover their own solutions to the conflicts and anxieties that bring them to therapy. I believe that people want to be heard by a professional who will help them develop new perspectives on themselves and their relationships, and who will assist them in finding creative ways to handle the anguish that daily living involves. I am exploratory and active and make interventions within the context of each person's historical narrative. I provide interventions and referrals when necessary.

Hoarding Therapists

What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?

Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?

The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?

Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
