I integrate modalities such as Hakomi, NARM, IFS, Gestalt, DBT, and NVC.
When we don't feel our best, it is a challenge to fully engage with life and unleash our true potential. Life transitions, grief, trauma, depression and other stressors can leave us stuck and feeling like the life we truly want to live is out of reach. It is my firm belief each of us has the power inside to heal and transcend these types of limitations. Through compassionate, supported inquiry, we can dismantle the blocks that keep us from our most deeply held desires. I am here to assist in that process. Through a holistic approach that honors the mind, body and spirit, I am dedicated to helping you move forward.

Your story matters, and therapy is where we uncover it- how your past has shaped you, the patterns you carry, and the life you want to create moving forward. My approach often resonates with people-pleasers, anxious over-thinkers, perfectionists, and children of emotionally immature parents, who are ready to reclaim their voice. I specialize in navigating anxiety, attachment wounds, unresolved trauma, grief, OCD, and relationship challenges. As a therapist, I will walk alongside you with curiosity and compassion, helping you learn how to regulate emotions, gain insight, and feel grounded.

With advanced training in Gestalt Therapy, I work experientially and relationally, often with creatively inclined adults.
Sadness and anxiety can leave you feeling empty, alone, and disconnected from yourself and the people you care about. Therapy can offer a place to build security and experience a steadier, kinder relationship with yourself and others. Many of my clients feel stuck in old patterns, have a loud inner critic, or find themselves repeating the same kinds of relationships and ways of coping. They are often thoughtful, sensitive, and high-functioning on the outside, with a desire to open up, take better care of themselves, and explore new experiences.

As a therapist with nearly a decade of experience, it is my goal to create a space that welcomes you in your entirety, and helps you navigate through the parts of yourself that may feel uncertain at times. While this looks different for everybody, my approach consistently focuses on curiosity, warmth, and compassion, opening a space where I can help guide you through the intricate web of emotions without judgement. My treatment is centered around a deep and learned respect for the complex intersection of identity while examining the impact societal marginalization has on the psyche.

Congratulations on taking the first step on your journey towards becoming a better you. Acknowledging the need to change is easy but following through is difficult. Finding the right person to help you through your journey can be draining but important in successfully accomplishing your goals. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable to another person is scary, but it is a strength that aids in the healing process. Humanistic and cognitive behavioral theories are used in an integrative approach to help understand your unique life experiences and how they have led to deficit-based feelings, emotions, and behaviors.

I use somatic therapy and Gestalt techniques to bring your awareness back to yourself allowing you to reconnect with what you care about in new more balanced ways.
Gestalt therapy refocuses the work of therapy to the "here and now" of our sessions. We will examine how your patterns and tendencies outside of therapy may be present in our therapy sessions. Through this process of awareness new opportunities will arise along with new ways seeing yourself and the world around you leaving you empowered and with more agency.

Are you stuck? Hitting the same wall in every relationship? Tired of performing while quietly burning out? Do you feel like you’re watching your life happen instead of living it? Wondering how you got so caught between identity, image, and expectation? Come as you are. Do you want to heal old wounds, absorb a loss, break toxic cycles? Has your success come at the cost of your mental health, your relationships, or even your sense of self? Come as you are.

In the room, I bring my training in Gestalt therapy and years' experience working with LGBTQ+ folks and people grappling with anxiety, trauma, depression, HIV & other chronic illnesses.
I am here with you. Well, not yet. But when I’m with you, I’m with you. With you in your pain and loneliness, your sadness and anger, your joy, surprise and inspiration. With you in your transition, your loss, your growth and transformation. Therapy with me is always a creative process of exploration and discovery in the here and now. I believe that we have a boundless capacity to grow and change, to heal and become unstuck from self-denying, self-destructive ways of being. I also believe that your experience of being stuck is REAL; it’s not “all in your head” and you can’t “just snap out of it.” I know because I’ve been there.

Do you ever feel like you have the right moves in mind, but something needs to be internally reworked to get to where you want to be? It’s easy to get lost in survival mode, expectation and obligation and completely leave yourself out of the conversation that will render you happy. I believe that healing starts when we stop trying to meet external standards and start making life choices that lead to inner alignment. But how to get there? It takes visions, revisions and supports to make it so.

Down bad? Feeling wonky? Lets talk about it. I help clients with a variety of issues by tailoring my therapeutic approach to their unique needs and goals. I want everyone I work with to realize their full potential by restructuring maladaptive thought patterns that lead to distress and poor functioning. I hope to give my clients the space to process their thoughts and emotions, and understand the ways in which their behavior and subconscious beliefs about themselves and the world around them play into false narratives that ultimately keep themselves down. I strive to help my clients to learn to love themselves without condition.

As an eclectic, creative therapist, I believe in doing what works. I use EMDR, an evidence based treatment, to heal trauma and correct negative core beliefs that drive your problems. I provide a safe environment for painful emotions where you can heal and discover your true authentic self. Break free and resolve destructive relationship patterns and discover true and healthy intimacy. End compulsive and addictive behaviors, instead of using a substance, a process, or a relationship for instant gratification and to escape intolerable realities. As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, I treat sexual addiction, infidelity and intimacy anorexia.

Gestalt Therapists
What is gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behavior, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.

How does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.

How long does gestalt therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.

Does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
