I have robust experience organizing peer support with activists, queer/trans youth, survivors, parents, artists, disabled folks and neurodivergent folks.
Self-compassion is a great buzzword, but it's easier said than done. Sometimes you have to avoid or fight feelings and parts of yourself. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, worn out or conflicted. Maybe you are not satisfied with your core relationships. This could be because parts of you are stuck in past experiences and those parts are using the tools they have (like avoidance, self-criticism, anxiety...) to protect you from more pain, even though these tools don't always serve you now. Together, we can welcome and get to know each part of you slowly and safely, and introduce new tools for coping and making change.

We often forget, or are unable to provide ourselves ample space to take a moment and reflect on what we are experiencing throughout our development. We live disconnected from the messages our bodies communicate: through the tightness in our chest; the manner in which we respond to our partner; the late nights spent tossing and turning in bed. Allowing oneself the space to confront those messages enables one to confidently navigating your day to day experiences.

I also work with folks on the Autism Spectrum, with a focus on the challenges facing those who were diagnosed after childhood.
As a movement therapist, I believe that our bodies are our greatest sources of knowledge and places of healing - giving us information about ourselves, our pasts, our needs, and how we truly want to engage with others. With combined use of the body, verbal psychotherapy, and therapeutic art-making, I will help you take that knowledge and put it into action.

As a clinician, I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, and trauma, and with children on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities.
Growing up in a traditional Asian-American household, I was raised with discipline, perseverance, and achievement. I followed the expected path—excelled in school, attended an elite university, and built a 12-year banking career. But the pressure to be perfect left me stressed and overwhelmed. After my second child was born, I made the difficult decision to leave my job and focus on family. Over the next five years as a full-time parent, I reconnected with music—learning guitar, singing, and leading parent‑baby classes in Brooklyn. Music reignited my passion, guiding me to become a therapist, a career aligned with who I truly am.

I am a neurodivergence-affirming therapist and specialize in Autism, ADHD, and related topics such as self-/recent diagnosis, unmasking, accommodations, and burnout.
Welcome! I show up with curiosity, authenticity, and my full presence, and invite you to do the same. I believe therapy should affirm and honor your complexity, identity, and lived experience, supporting exploration and healing on your own terms — whether you bring a specific focus or seek a reflective space to navigate life. I approach therapy with equal passion for its science and art: I bring expertise in evidence-based modalities like psychodynamic and narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, and somatic approaches, and integrate them in a creative, collaborative way that feels most meaningful and uniquely tailored to you.

I specialize in strength-based psychodynamic therapy. Many of us struggle with balancing all our feelings, obligations, values, and dreams; we feel trapped, or we shut down the parts of ourselves that don’t fit. And yet, our lives are not only our experiences and identities, but the meanings we make of them. Together, we can unfold the rich stories of your life to make room for your whole self, building on your strengths while honoring your needs—and creating new possibilities for the road ahead.

Autism Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.

How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.

How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.

How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
