I work with clients who suffer from range of emotional problems, including difficulties with
anger management
, depression, anxiety, interpersonal, and family issues. I work with couples, families, children, and adult individuals. I use individual, group, and family therapy as treatment modalities. I view psychotherapy as a process whereby a client is assisted to explore, understand, and constructs his/her past experiences in more realistic and positive ways to help strengthen one's self-esteem. This process is achieved by creating a working environment of trust, acceptance and non judgment that fosters self-acceptance and emotional growth.

Hello and welcome to my profile.
By now I would assume that you've read several profiles on the "Psychology Today" site and by this point they are probably all sounding astonishingly similar. That's got to be frustrating.
I hope that the following information concerning my practice doesn't have the same effect.
Let me be brief: I work with a multitude of issues and problems that relate to: couples, anxiety, depression and
anger management
. I also work with addictions including eating disorders. My approach can help you work through unconscious conflict (repeating patterns again and again without understanding why) as well as compulsive behaviors such as drinking, thought ruminating and habitual behaviors that are difficult to control.I can help you 'evolve' out of your particular problem. I am supportive and reality based while I can always find humor in the worst and the best of times. Together we can turn this all around and get you to where you want to be.

If the way you express
anger
or experience anxiety is now damaging your life and relationships, it’s not enough to "vent your feelings" or "identify your triggers.
Today’s pandemic has created emotional and physical stressors that challenge our ability to manage anxious feelings and angry impulses. Thankfully, even under these conditions,
anger
and anxiety management remain skills you can learn and practice. Though the feelings of
anger
and anxiety are universal, the expression of these feelings can vary, and thus can result in either positive changes or disastrous consequences for your personal relationships, physical well-being, or professional career.

I help sensitive and explosive people find the root of their upset so that they can stay in charge of themselves. Unmediated
anger
ruins relationships. The kids hide, the partner threatens to go and the colleagues call you a "screamer" behind your back. There's another way. I know how to follow these feelings back to the root. How did this fight get born? How did it grow? Who taught you how? Once you get to know yourself, you won't be surprised by a surge of feeling. It's an old friend. You'll know what to do because you've done the hard work of naming them in session. You will feel like people know the real you.

My role is to support you through all the ups, downs, triumphs, and challenges! I offer emotion and behavior based counseling that moves you towards feeling less overwhelmed by your feelings, more clear in how you process what you’re experiencing, and effectively expressing yourself.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
