Operating from this foundation of trust, I utilize an integrative approach that draws upon my training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, CBT/ DBT and trauma-focused therapies including EMDR (certification completed in training Levels I and II).
I specialize in supporting people as they navigate the impact of trauma, stress, loss, and life transitions. Our minds and bodies can react to life’s stressors in a range of ways, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. We all rely on methods of coping with these painful emotional experiences that, over time, may become more harmful than helpful. Our work will help you better understand the source of these struggles and put you on a path towards the health, happiness, and fulfillment that you deeply deserve.

I have an integral approach, combining interpersonal therapy, family systems, and DBT .
We can all get trapped in a way of thinking or relating to the world that does not serve our end goals. I work with clients to help them become aware of these patterns, understand their origin and utility, while at the same time fostering the freedom, perspective, and skills to break away from these patterns when needed. I view therapy as a co-investigative process, where you and I can look together, with neutrality, curiosity and compassion, at the forces that are shaping your emotional life, and see if there might be a different way of experiencing the world.

As an individual and couples therapist, I draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT ), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and feminist theory.
I believe that embedded in each of us are the tools and knowledge for self-reflection, growth, and healing. I work with clients to develop the insight and skills necessary to manage anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions, relationship struggles, and to resolve past traumas. I understand that everyone’s path forward is unique; therefore, I am dedicated to forming an authentic relationship with each of my clients and learning from them in the process. My goal is to actively engage with my clients—while putting them at ease and offering support—as they find their best path forward.

I take great pride in prioritizing ongoing extensive training in psychodynamic and behavioral therapies, including CBT, DBT , RODBT.
I believe we long to be ourselves in a society that socializes us to feel and internalize inadequacy. We often find ourselves recreating patterns as a means to cope. Perhaps you have done some self-reflection and are seeking a deeper understanding or have not yet had the opportunity to explore and bring these patterns into awareness at all. In joining with you wherever you may be, I aim to help you strengthen your emotional awareness and develop a greater sense of introspection. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples around various interrelated concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, sexuality,

Having developed a practice centered around increased mindfulness and acceptance, I utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT ) and other modalities to help you gain the insight you need to develop better tools and strategies for living a happier, healtier life.
Many people struggle with mental health issues but are afraid or nervous to get the help that they need, all while unaware that this is a completely normal process. As a psychotherapist, my goal is to reduce that fear by providing a welcoming therapeutic environment hat allows each client to do the necessary work at their own pace. Said mental health issues may include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma as they can also manifest in anger management issues, self esteem concerns, difficulties with life transitions, relationship/intimacy concerns, imposter syndrome or more.

I have had extensive training on evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT , and Motivational Interviewing, and put the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of my approach.
Are you motivated to make a change in your life? Are there issues in your personal life in regards to dealing with stress, anxiety, or depression, and identifying that your current coping skills are not working for you? The goal is to build awareness and knowledge and acquire skills that help you become independent in facing future challenges. I want to help you grow as an individual, and learn how to better understand yourself emotionally, and put action outside of therapy into achieving goals of independent coping with the stressors you are facing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

DBT is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
