I’ve helped many people who received limited or no help from previous therapists or medications. I work well with people who are skeptical of, or intimidated by, talk therapy. When you are physically ill you turn to your doctor, trusting they can effectively treat your symptoms. Psychological and emotional problems that cause depression, anxiety, excessive anger, low self confidence, guilt/shame, along with relationship and work conflicts, can actually cause more suffering than physical illnesses. I have more than 25 years of experience, and my approach to working with people is thorough, interactive, and practical.

In one of the busiest and most competitive cities in the world, it can be hard to find a moment — or a space — where you can be unfiltered and fully yourself. I provide that space. Together, we lay out the puzzle pieces of your story to gain clarity on what’s been holding you back and help you move forward feeling seen, grounded, and understood.

Making the decision to start therapy is one the best gifts you can give yourself. That might sound a bit cliché, but giving yourself permission to focus on your own needs and discover more about yourself can be an incredible process. This is especially true if perhaps you’ve gotten used to putting the needs of others first, by being a caregiver to a parent or family member who may be struggling with a physical or mental illness or substance misuse. Learning to put the focus back on yourself and figuring out what gives you happiness and fulfillment is one the many ways that a good therapeutic relationship can enrich your life.

Welcome! I have always been awed by the human mind and heart. My desire to support others in having their experiences normalized, validated, and supported—and to provide a space for shame and darkness to transform into strength—has driven me to pursue this field. When I am not in session, I enjoy spending time outdoors and pursuing activities that nourish my creativity.

My goal is always to help my client in the way that they understand and teach them how to be independent from my care to grow into the life changes that they desire. I am a therapist who focuses on understanding. Each person that I work with is a story. Being able to understand the person through their eyes is the guide that moves us towards why they need help and how I can help them. My therapeutic style is to find ways to get to know who I am speaking to and who they want to become with my support.

In both individual and couples therapy, I use mindfulness and embodiment to help you build awareness of your own wants, needs, emotions, and desires, creating a foundation for clear communication, intimacy, and understanding.
Sexuality is a core component of our experience in the world. Finding a clinician who is capable of speaking comfortably and non judgmentally about sex can be difficult. I practice holistic sex and relationship therapy with a wide array of clients seeking assistance with sexual function, relationship, intimacy, and identity. LGBTQ/Non-Mono/Kink welcoming.

I draw from evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based therapy, person-centered therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
I became a therapist because I’ve always been deeply curious about why we think, feel, and act the way we do. That curiosity grew into a passion for helping people better understand themselves and using that insight to foster real change. My style is warm, collaborative, and authentic, with a focus on making sure you feel safe and understood. I completed the Gottman Method Couples Therapy – Level 1 training and use this research-based approach to help couples feel more connected, understood, and secure.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
