Making the decision to start therapy is one the best gifts you can give yourself. That might sound a bit cliché, but giving yourself permission to focus on your own needs and discover more about yourself can be an incredible process. This is especially true if perhaps you’ve gotten used to putting the needs of others first, by being a caregiver to a parent or family member who may be struggling with a physical or mental illness or substance misuse. Learning to put the focus back on yourself and figuring out what gives you happiness and fulfillment is one the many ways that a good therapeutic relationship can enrich your life.

Hello! My name is Frank, and I am a dedicated and experienced therapist committed to fostering mental wellness and emotional well-being. I’d like to start by saying that I wholeheartedly believe that the strongest foundation for healing and growth rests between the relationship of a client and their therapist. When working with clients my philosophy is to provide a safe and welcoming space so that you and I can “dig-in” and work collaboratively together to overcome obstacles, challenges and sources of stress that may be currently impacting your mental wellness.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my son, E, staying active, exploring wellness practices, and connecting with others through art and music.
I support clients navigating trauma, life transitions, identity struggles, and relationship challenges. As a bilingual Latina from the South Bronx, I deeply understand the intersection of multiple identities and the hurdles faced by marginalized communities. Together, we create a safe, non-judgmental space where we explore your experiences, uncover strengths, and develop practical strategies to thrive. Therapy is a pathway to clarity, emotional healing, and empowerment—helping you break through obstacles and embrace a more authentic, fulfilling life.

In my work with young children, I utilize a variety of attachment-based techniques, including dramatic play and art therapy.
What are the stories we tell ourselves, about ourselves? Where do we learn them? Therapy is a great place to start creating new stories that are more aligned with your values and desires. I believe that healing happens in the relationship and approach therapy as a creative, collaborative experience where humor, kindness, and self-expression are valued and encouraged. My areas of expertise include working with young people who have experienced trauma and family conflict, though I work with individuals of all ages to help them manage the stressors of life and achieve greater self-awareness, acceptance, and meaning.

I combine EMDR therapy, art therapy, IFS therapy and somatic practices like nervous system regulation to heal at the root of your issues, discover what you want out of life, and create lasting changes.
I help clients who are experiencing anxiety, ADHD, self esteem issues, grief, women's issues, trauma and PTSD to heal deeply. I’m a millennial therapist with a modern, holistic approach. I will work with you, instead of nodding and "mhmm-ing" at you from across the screen. We can tie in spirituality (if that's your thing!) to connect to yourself more deeply.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
