I am a licensed therapist and clinical supervisor who has been practicing in the fields of substance abuse and mental health for over 20 years. My patients have come to me because of struggles with depression, anxiety, relationships, infertility issues, and substance abuse. My ideal client is a woman, 18-55, dealing with a life transition (e.g., college, marriage, motherhood, new career, returning to work, widowhood, etc.) or relationship issue (e.g., constant arguing, separation, divorce/break-up, etc.). She is experiencing distressing symptoms of anxiety, loneliness or sadness - she wants to feel more like herself and return to her normal functioning. Sometimes her emotional struggles make sense and are tied to a life event, but sometimes she has no idea why she feels this way, like it just came on out of the blue. She feels overwhelmed, tired and confused and just wants someone to help her.

In my opinion, people's biggest fear is vulnerability (you know, "putting it out there"). Often, we refrain from expressing ourselves because we are never certain how we will be perceived. (Am I the only one feeling this way?!) Therapy should be a forum in which you can comfortably express ideas and concerns and be assured that you are not offending anyone, being judged, looked at oddly, recorded, or subject to the ramifications that often are the result of "confiding" in someone you know. I have over 15 years experience treating all mental health conditions from anxiety disorders, trauma and phobias to neuropsychiatric conditions and co-occurring developmental disorders and co-occurring medical issues. Additionally, I work with with complex parent-child and family dynamics, sibling issues, behavioral issues, hyperactivity, impulsivity, selective mutism and other communication barriers. I incorporate expressive arts and movement into therapy. All ages/all conditions, In-office & Telepsych. I have a specialized parent-child-interaction-therapy program through in-home video and I offer periodic group treatment.
