I integrate 3 treatment modalities into my practice: psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Taking the initial steps to begin psychotherapy can be intimidating but the process of therapy has the potential to transform your life. Survival skills that may have helped us in the past may have become an obstacle to thriving in the present. This may contribute to feeling stuck in painful relationships, unrewarding jobs and struggling with depression and anxiety.

I am an EMDR trained therapist experienced in providing trauma-informed care that is focused on the client's strengths and tailored to each client individually.
Past, painful experiences are a regular part of the human experience. When those experiences are unexplored and unresolved, they can feel overwhelmingly heavy. They can also be a part of your present; informing your relationships, unhealthy habits, and influencing the way you cope with difficult situations. This can leave you feeling alone, unfulfilled, and disconnected from your life. Therapy is a place where it is safe to unpack these painful experiences and process them in a non-judgmental, compassionate environment.

It just won't stop. Life feels like a constant fight to stay above water. The sadness, the pain, the monotony of it all, is dragging you down. It's a constant fight against depression, but you aren't sure why. Once upon a time, you felt the possibility of happiness and joy, but now it's all about going through the motions, fighting against the sadness. And it's getting harder and harder to fake it. You're starting to wonder about the meaning of life; what the purpose of all of this is. You've tried coaching, talking to friends, maybe even some therapists, but nothing is sticking and you desperately need help getting out of this fog.

My practice integrates evidence-based and alternative modalities, including Depth Psychology, EMDR, Solution Focused Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, PLR, Energy Psychology, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
Many of the clients I work with feel caught between being too much and not enough at the same time. You may be highly sensitive, intuitive, and deeply aware of the needs of others, yet still find yourself questioning your worth or second-guessing your choices. You might overthink conversations, feel responsible for other people’s emotions, or hold yourself to impossible standards while quietly feeling like you are falling short. In therapy, we explore where these patterns began and work to shift the beliefs that keep you stuck so you can develop greater self-trust and live with more clarity, confidence, and emotional freedom.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
