Tara Herrick Brown, M.S., is a holistic counselor with 18 years of experience. With a background in health psychology and various trainings and certifications in energy medicine and meditation, she offers clients a truly unique skill set. Tara sees the whole person rather than the diagnosis or label they present. Encouraging her clients to look at themselves and to own their part of their struggles is the foundation of her work. On this journey towards self-discovery, she helps clients change their stories from victim-speak to self-awareness and self-acceptance.

I’m passionate in helping people better understand how their nervous systems work and affect their emotional well-being. I’m also passionate about helping people understand how a dysregulated nervous system leads to development of mental health conditions. It’s important for an individual to determine the focus of treatment and what they need to happen in order to consider enacting a change process. Sometimes someone just needs an active listener they can use as a sound board and to mirror back their experience. Empathy and validation are the cornerstone to my approach.

We are all given a blank sheet in the beginning. What we choose to put on this blank sheet determines our outcome. Through life we are shaped by our surroundings, interactions and family. But not all of us are given the tools to write our own stories. Nature created us, but nurture guides us. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with experience treating substance abuse and mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, and OCD. I have extensive knowledge and training in Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) such as hair pulling (trichotillomania) and skin picking (excoriation disorder). Whatever your reason for seeking counseling, I will work with you to create a collaborative and supportive environment. My approach includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and the Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) model for treating BFRBs.

Mr. Fata received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in business administration and Spanish from the University at Albany, State University of New York. He earned his Master of Arts in counseling and community psychology from Russell Sage College in Albany, NY.

I am a licensed mental health counselor with experience treating individuals with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, anger issues, and co-existing mental health and substance abuse issues. We are participating providers with CDPHP, FidelisCare, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, MHC, MVP, Empire Plan and Beacon Health Options.

My goal is as a therapist is to assist clients in becoming their own best advocate as they negiotiate personal life challenges. I have a special interest in mind body awareness and have incorporated meditative and relaxation strategies and biofeedback in my therapeutic work with clients from childhood through late adulthood. Additionally, I have trained ten years in Neurofeedback, a very specialized type of biofeedback, that engages the brain in changing itself. this is particularly helpful with chronic mental health issues including, but not limited to, ADD, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Pain Syndromes, and PTSD. Hello, my name is Arlene Bish-Justinger and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in mental health and medical social work for over 20 years. My focus is on individual therapy in areas such as thought disorders, suicidal ideation, sleep/insomnia, mood disorders, and anxiety. I use many approaches to assisting my clients, including CBT, tapping, and motivational interviewing, and I always have a strength-based and trauma-informed mindset.
