In these roles, I’ve utilized evidence based practices such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to assist individuals in reaching their goals.
I work with people to promote the positive changes they want to make in their lives. I do this by providing emotional support and validation, while also challenging a person's current thinking and helping them to identify what it is they want most in life. In therapy sessions, we will explore specific strategies you can utilize to create those changes in your life and what in your past may still be holding you back.

My training includes: Psychodynamic , EFCT and Couples Developmental Model.
Are you having difficulty in your relationships and wondering, "how do I make things better?" Are you experiencing a loss of self, feeling confused and/or depressed? Is it difficult to identify your feelings? Have your feelings become too painful to experience on your own? It is only natural to want to avoid feelings that are painful. It is our basic human instinct to avoid anything that is painful especially emotional pain. Unfortunately, avoiding pain results in maladaptive behavior and difficulties within relationships. Avoiding feelings can result in feeling numb and/or loss of self.

I work with individuals and families to dissolve the painful blocks impeding their experience of each other so they can enjoy authentic, engaging, and fulfilling relationships. Therapy is the place where you can build a new kind relationship with yourself and your world, one that taps into the fundamental dynamism of the human spirit so that you can enjoy a fuller sense of connection and purpose. My approach is a blend of relational and psychodynamic theories with an emphasis on attachment and developmental issues pertaining to anxiety, depression, and trauma.

While rooted in humanistic orientation, my work is an integration of several psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral methods.
Unfortunately I am unable to schedule new clients at this time. To introduce, as a psychologist I provide evidence-based therapy that is person-centered. This means that I use my clinical expertise to actively treat the concerns that are bringing you into therapy in ways that are tailored specifically to you. When meeting with me, you can expect to be treated with warmth as a whole person who has individualized identities, values, and strengths. My goal is to aid people in becoming happier and healthier individuals, whatever this means to you.

I am an institute trained psychotherapist, working integratively, within a contemporary, relational, psychodynamic orientation. After more than two decades of practicing in New York City, I am now located in Western Massachusetts, though I maintain NY licensure. For me, at the heart of a relational, psychodynamic , approach is my effort to strive to meet people where they are and make the work understandable and accessible based on who you are. I respect and build upon the ways in which I am invited to join and help expand psychic space, so that areas which are troubling can be demystified, transformed and feel less daunting.

I practice from a lens of psychodynamic psychotherapy which places an emphasis on childhood upbringing and relational figures.
We are inherently social creatures that yearn for connectedness but sometimes it is difficult to connect with ourselves. Even when we desire to understand our own pain and struggles, that inner connection doesn't always come how or when we hoped. I believe that a connectedness to one's self and others can be achieved; and can come more naturally with practice. As your therapist, I will foster a warm and supportive therapeutic environment for us to work together. This is a place where you can gently peel back layers of awareness so that you can more easily reach your authentic self.

You are capable of healing with adequate resources and expert care. I started a private practice so that I can help you grow into the person you want to be. In our work together, your well-being is my top priority. I utilize emotion regulation strategies and psychodynamic processing to address the root causes of emotion dysregulation, including treatment of past trauma and addressing attachment anxiety.

In recent years, I trained in psychodynamic and relational therapy as well as psychedelic-integration therapy.
I am a holistic, affirming therapist who sees many mental health challenges as survival strategies for a sick society rather than symptoms of a sick individual. I partner with each client to make sense of how you've navigated the world thus far. Then we'll work together to new ways of coping that go beyond surviving in an unjust world but toward thriving powerfully in your life and relationships.

I provide psychodynamic therapy in addition to CBT and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
My clients often struggle with relationship issues stemming from early childhood trauma; this results in coping mechanisms that work, but may carry a big price tag. They may grapple with sexual abuse, partner violence, sexual orientation and/ or disability related issues. Often, these manifest as substance abuse, cutting, communication problems or self- isolating behaviors. They may have friends and family members who do not truly "see" them, and as a result their own view of self is dim. Other clients are coping with situational anxiety and depression related to Covid, and need to establish safety, structure and hope.

I work heavily from a psychodynamic perspective; (basically getting to the root of the problem); which often stem from family of origin problems or trauma.
Do you have low energy but you're not sure why? Do you live in a constant state of worry? Or perhaps you make goals for yourself but have difficulty reaching them. Maybe relationship issues? You want to solve these problems and to feel better, but it seems like nothing that you try works, at least not for long. I want to help. Together we will work to find what is blocking your success and find new strategies that work for you. You may be dealing with an undiagnosed mental health issue, or unrealized internal conflicts that need to be resolved. Uncovering these things take the help of a mental health professional.

Thank you for your interest in my practice. I see therapy as a powerful two-person process of discovery and acceptance. In session we laugh, we cry, we understand and we grow. We read over the past, stay rooted in the present, and look forward to a more balanced and fulfilling future. My integrative approach to treatment is rooted in interpersonal psychodynamic theory, but also drives from other models to meet each person's unique needs. My areas of expertise include trauma work, college mental health, issues related to international relocation, cultural integration, study abroad, body-mind balance, and adoption.

I utilize psychodynamic therapy to delve deeper into clients’ experiences to help them better understand their behaviors, concepts from CBT, & mindfullness.
Whether your graduating school, entering the work force, or navigating a relationship, life transitions can be challenging. You may feel overwhelmed, intimidated at times, & want to learn how to function on a daily basis without allowing stressors & other outside factors effect you. However, you find that life always has a way of throwing a new curveball at you. We need to learn how to work through these curveballs, & learn from each one how to better handle the next. The 1st step is being open & willing to make changes, & I will be there with you every step of the way. I will help you develop tools & skills to work through them.

My approach is informed by psychodynamic and cognitive/behavioral therapy, including dialectical behavioral therapy.
Are you struggling with anxiety, sadness, feelings of loneliness or emptiness, or substance use? Are your relationships with family, friends, or others important to you being strained or affected? Are you having problems getting things done in your daily life? If so, you are not alone. For the past 20 years, I have been working with people from diverse backgrounds with unique circumstances, just like yours. I have learned that the quality of the relationship people have with their therapists is often the most important factor in helping people make the changes needed to improve their lives.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Psychodynamic therapy, also known as insight-oriented therapy, evolved from Freudian psychoanalysis. Like adherents of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapists believe that bringing the unconscious into conscious awareness promotes insight and resolves conflict. But psychodynamic therapy is briefer and less intensive than psychoanalysis and also focuses on the relationship between the therapist and the client, as a way to learn about how the client relates to everyone in their life.
