Fundamentally I believe in meeting a client where he, she, or they are at in the moment. Knowing where a client is followed by learning where they want go in personal development. Working with clients to help them along their journey to that goal. Sometimes goals change, or circumstances emerge that alter a path. Transitioning to new goals or paths, or after bump in the road or derailment getting back on track is not easy. Everyone needs support to help through transitions and hurdles. One of the most difficult things a person does is ask for help –walking through the door the first time.

The mission of C & C Health Care Services is to enhance the well-being of the community by providing comprehensive, high-quality health care services including prevention and education with special emphasis on the medically under served and low-income populations. Our goal is to provide a “medical home” for the under served by significantly expanding access to primary care, behavioral health, addiction, disease management, prevention and educational services.

Mel has eight years of experience working with people with eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Her experience also includes working with clients who live with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and other co-occurring disorders.

I have training in a variety of clinical modalities that are effective in helping clients overcome problems and accomplish goals.

We all experience times when we know things can't stay the same, but we don't know how to make them better. It may be pain, loss, or resentments from the past. Or anxiety about future stressors and uncertainties. Or current struggles that leave us feeling powerless and discouraged. It takes humility to admit that what we're doing isn't working, and it takes courage to try something different. I have seen great transformation in women and girls with self-esteem issues. This may manifest in codendency, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders, grief, anxiety and depression. I combine Self-Psychology, humor and metaphor, and my love for metaphysics to create new paths for healing and it works. I have clients who have struggled for decades with debilitating thoughts and behaviors who are now free of negative voices and habits that were not serving them. I am also skilled at empowering couples and/or families that are in high conflict and feeling hopeless.

Josee' Perrine is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience in the mental health field as a Mental Health Counselor and clinical supervisor. She is the recipient of a Senatorial Award for her work with families. She has a strong background working with individuals who have severe mental illness; schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and personality disorders, as well as mood disorders, anxiety and PTSD. In addition to her clinical work, she was an instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno, teaching classes in family interaction.

A Mindfulness-Based approach is central to our programs. A military veteran, I specialize in working with first responders who have witnessed or experienced traumatic events in the course of their careers. Typically this includes military, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians. I believe therapy can help you understand the behaviors, emotions, and ideas that contribute to a problem and learn how to modify them. I value the strength of the human spirit and an individual's capacity to change. My goal is to help you improve your situation and find hope and motivation to feel healthier and more fulfilled in all aspects of your life.

Others described me throughout my life as as lighthearted, approachable, and a person who lends a "good ear." I'm hopeful that I am able to use these skills in my clinical work to help as many people from our community one person and one skill at a time.

In the midst of life and its constant changes, it is comforting, at times, to have someone to talk with. I enjoy being a light and ear for others during more challenging times. The needs we have as individuals change as we grow and it can be tough to identify the lessons that motivate us to press forward. As we and our environments continue to shift, at times we can get stuck. It takes courage to acknowledge our own reflection and seek what we need. While attempting to balance various life developments, emotionally/mentally, conquering goals may seem bleak or unattainable. Whatever those desires or stressors, I will sit with you.
