When looking for a therapist, you have to weigh the pros and cons like looking for the perfect shoes for your perfect outfit. If they match perfectly but hurt your feet, how often will you wear them? Do you care about the pain as long as you look good? Or is comfort your main goal? This is usually a good place to start, just like finding your practitioner. Do you interview your therapist first? Do you know what to ask in order to know if you can have a good fit?

I believe individuals come to therapy with concerns that have become problematic to their lives. However we were raised, along the way, we picked up traits that grew along with us, and manifested themselves in our everyday living; traits, such as abandonment, mistrust, defectiveness, vulnerable to harm/illness, entitlement, unrelenting standards/hypercritical, and dependence. I believe these traits hide in plain sight. Individuals will come to therapy looking to relieve themselves of moments, or situations, only to find these traits, disguised as their concerns. It is up to our work together to find a way to overcome these traits.

A lot of my clients come to therapy feeling “stuck.” They might describe themselves as broken, overwhelmed by self-doubt, or unable to manage life’s demands. They often carry the weight of unrealistic expectations—whether imposed by family, culture, or themselves. Their presenting issues might include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or challenges with identity and self-worth. Beneath those challenges, however, is often a resilient core waiting to be rediscovered. Using a strengths-based resilience approach, I view each client not through the lens of pathology but through the lens of potential.

Being seen and valued for who you truly are, particularly in a space free of judgment and bias, is an incredible feeling; when you feel safe to be yourself, peace and healing naturally follow. You deserve to blossom, grow, and thrive! It often takes that feeling of safety and security for the truest parts of ourselves to be free to emerge. The essence of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship and the sense of safety that comes with it. Knowing that you are in a space where your confidence is kept, your story is protected, and your whole person is viewed with loving kindness allows for growth.

It first hit you from nowhere. Your heart slammed, the room tilted, and one terrified thought took over: "I'm dying!" Then the ER, or a late-night Google search, finally handed you a word for it: anxiety. Part of you still doesn't quite buy it, because most days you seem fine. But the attacks keep coming back. What gnaws at you now is where it started, why it started, and whether it means you're going crazy. Well, you're not. You just want it to stop, without the drugs, which haven't helped all that much anyway. It's an ambush, at the worst possible moments, and by now it has disrupted your life more than enough.

I have over 30 years of experience working with people from all walks of life. I’ve learned that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, loss, relationship struggles, addiction, or just feeling overwhelmed with life, therapy with me is about creating a safe space where you can breathe, be real, and begin to heal. My roots are in Hawaiʻi, and while I now live in Las Vegas, I carry with me the values of ʻohana (family), aloha (compassion), and mālama (care). I believe we all carry deep wisdom inside us—even when life feels confusing or painful—and my role is to help you reconnect with that inner strength.

The peri/menopause transition can be so challenging (and that is putting it nicely!). Let’s be honest—perimenopause can feel like everything turns upside down. One minute you’re fine, the next you’re overwhelmed, full of brain fog, short-fused, and ready to get in the car and drive for the hills! The anxiety, mood swings, and exhaustion aren’t just “in your head”—and I believe and understand you. These feelings can be confusing, especially when they don't always "look" like what we’ve been taught to expect (or at the age it's been said to start!) It can feel like you're unraveling—while still trying to hold everything together.

I knew I wanted to be a therapist at sixteen years old the moment I first learned about the human mind and felt something deep inside me come alive. That spark never left. What I discovered then, and have carried with me ever since, is that I have a genuine, innate gift for connecting with people for truly understanding how others think, feel, and experience the world around them. I believe there is a great deal of pain and suffering in this world, and not nearly enough people with the empathy and compassion to sit with it. That is why I do this work.
