You want things to be better – next level even. You’re tired of feeling stuck, burnt out, overwhelmed, and unfulfilled. You're heartbroken with grief as you mourn the loss of a special someone, something, or dream. The constant high expectations (of yourself and others) is exhausting, and the people-pleasing is wearing you down so there’s not much time or energy left for pleasure or fun. You’re ready to make positive changes and to grieve well, but you need some support in the process. Let's connect so you can start to live with greater ease, transform your loss into deeper love and meaningful purpose, and feel more fulfilled,

I am currently a LMFT working at Maternal Minds Counseling. I have experience working alongside clients going through the life transition to motherhood, grieving the loss of a pregnancy or loved one, and anxiety surrounding daily life stressors. After experiencing a pregnancy loss myself and postpartum anxiety, I understand the pain, worries, excitement and sadness that comes with every step. I hope to be a support and guide for others going on their own journey of life.

I work with individuals who feel stuck in patterns they never intended—whether that’s problematic pornography use, sexual addiction, or the painful aftermath of intimate partner betrayal. You may feel shame, secrecy, anxiety, or deep disconnection from yourself or your partner. You might be successful in many areas of life yet privately struggling with behaviors that conflict with your values. Or you may be devastated by betrayal, seeking clarity, stability, and a path toward healing, accountability, and restored trust.

Waitlist for new clients
New Clients: waitlist only. There are times in life when we may feel stretched beyond our limits, in need of repair. When we feel hopeless that things will get better, whether individually, in your relationship, or with your family. During these difficult times it can be hard to ask for help. When you take that first step of reaching out, I’ll come along side of you and aid in your journey towards healing, balance, and wellness. I will collaborate with you to help guide your journey, as we work together to find health and happiness. I do individual sessions as well as run small groups for betrayed partners.

I specialize in OCD and sex therapy, and where the two overlap. I work with obsessive themes of all kinds— from germs to relationships and existential concerns. But if you’re anxious about the types of thoughts you’d prefer to never tell another living soul— like hurting people, pedophilia, sexual orientation, incest…that sort of thing— I’m definitely the right therapist. That stuff is my speciality. You’ll be surprised how easy it will be to talk to me about it.

You deserve to feel GOOD-- Peaceful, happy, grounded, and content. Fulfilled in your relationships and joyful in your life. Sometimes we take a look around and even though we "should" feel all those things...we don't. Therapy is a safe haven where you can feel heard, understood, and validated. We'll dive into the stuckness and help you navigate your way out of it. My goal is to provide an environment where we can openly process your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors without fear of judgment, and you can leave feeling empowered, confident, and free.

Life can seem overwhelming and even frightening at times. Our most important relationships and life issues trigger physical, emotional, and mental responses we do not understand and cannot seem to overcome by ourselves. So many of our struggles are exacerbated by a lack of skills and knowledge, which can be obtained through effective therapy. Together, we will build upon your strengths to help you effectively approach your challenges. We will clarify your goals together and get you on the path to healing and achieving them.

Are you struggling to cope in life? Are your emotions hard to deal with or difficult to understand? Do you have symptoms of trauma you wish you could change? The reality is that most of us struggle with all of these things, and that healing is possible! You have taken the first step in that healing process by looking into how to receive help and I truly believe reaching out can be one of the hardest parts of the process. Be proud of yourself! You are most likely wanting to feel the peace that healing can bring, and as a therapist I love nothing more than helping my clients feel that.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work together effectively, but, especially for those whose concerns relate to their religion or cultural background, a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond, even if they do not have an extensive history with or understanding of their client’s background before therapy begins.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Church of Christ/Latter Day Saints values?
Each individual brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of therapeutic modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition such as LDS that strongly influences the conduct of everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process.

Why might someone feel comfortable with an LDS-attuned therapist?
While qualifications and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic effectiveness. It is wise to find a therapist who is responsive to your questions and concerns and with whom you feel you can establish a rapport. A therapist who is sensitive to LDS values and beliefs and the role they play in the lives of Church members can offer Mormon clients a welcome sense of safety, assurance that their community and culture will be understood, and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, all of which support the therapeutic process.

How do I recognize a good LDS therapist?
LDS therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Mormon principles and values. They have an understanding of the culture and the important role the Church plays in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of emotional difficulties those raised in the faith can be prone to. Like all effective therapists, a good LDS therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of everyday life.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Mormon/LDS therapists?
The directory of LDS therapists includes therapists who have shared their cultural background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information; these individuals would not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with LDS clients and/or communities, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
