A lot of my clients come to therapy feeling “stuck.” They might describe themselves as broken, overwhelmed by self-doubt, or unable to manage life’s demands. They often carry the weight of unrealistic expectations—whether imposed by family, culture, or themselves. Their presenting issues might include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or challenges with identity and self-worth. Beneath those challenges, however, is often a resilient core waiting to be rediscovered. Using a strengths-based resilience approach, I view each client not through the lens of pathology but through the lens of potential.

Your child has been tested, maybe medicated, maybe put on a behavior plan and the school is still calling. What you've watched doesn't show up in the IEP: the meltdowns, the opposition and no one at the table has a real answer for the gap. In more than 20 years working with families I've found that behavior that looks like defiance almost always covers something else. When we find what's underneath, the patterns that felt permanent start to move. You'll leave with strategies that work at home and your child will start to feel understood.

I understand that many clients have faced significant challenges in their lives, whether it’s trauma, the difficulty of navigating life transitions, or the unique experiences of being part of a cultural minority. You may be grappling with feelings of loneliness and anxiety, or a sense of being lost. Your goals might include finding a safe place to express yourself, developing coping strategies that align with your values and beliefs, and gaining a clearer understanding of who you are. I truly believe that everyone is trying their best to make do with the cards they have been dealt, but sometimes a helping hand can make it easier.

My ideal client is someone who is ready to take the first steps in learning about themselves and the origins of destructive patterns that have taken hold in their lives. They are "sick and tired of being sick and tired" and ready to free themselves from patterns of anxiety, depression, and addiction. They are ready to take a look at their thinking and behaviors and identify what traps they continue to fall into despite their best efforts to change.
