"I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become." ~ Carl Jung. Do you feel overwhelmed, have pain, grief, anxiety, depression, or unseen shadows that prevent you from healing or from choosing better decisions, relationships, and allowing yourself to matter in your own life? My experience and education can help people hungering for more purpose, fulfillment, and nurturing relationships instead of dissonance, exhaustion, and sacrifice, those who know what you were aiming for, but discovered you’re at the top of the wrong ladder. If you feel like you’re different or unseen, then I may be the psychotherapist you’ve sought.

Being seen and valued for who we truly are, particularly in a space free of judgment, bias, and pretense, is an incredible feeling. When we feel safe to be ourselves, peace and healing naturally follow. From there, we can blossom, grow, and thrive! It often takes that feeling of safety and security for the truest parts of ourselves to be free to emerge. The essence of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship and the sense of safety that comes with it. Knowing that you are in a space where your confidence is kept, your story is protected, and your whole person is viewed with loving kindness allows for growth.

I utilize a holistic approach in my sessions to ensure that my clients have the tools necessary to maintain balance in all areas of their lives. For over 15 years I have passionately worked with youth to overcome challenges, helping them undermine this idea that they are “less than.” For 8 years I worked with adjudicated youth at a juvenile detention camp where hope lingered. For 6 years I have worked for an emergency response team tailored to helping youth with an array of problems including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and self-harm intentions. I have learned to meet folks where they are and slowly walk with them at a pace where they wish to be, a more viable and attainable life.

Therapeutically, I use an integrative approach geared towards understanding self, specifically what drives one's thoughts and behaviors. I have been trained as a Clinical Psychologist, and I help identify automatic thoughts that lead to specific ideas and feelings, as well as understanding how our thoughts and behaviors are fueled by former messages that have been consistently reinforced. At the end of the day, my practice is shaped by uncovering a deeper understanding of self, discovering how our environment has constructed us, and determining what road we can choose in order to reconnect with self, others, and life.

Are you seeking relief from mental and emotional anguish? Are you struggling to cope with daily life stressors? Do you feel on edge? Are your relationships suffering? Do you struggle to keep your thoughts in the present? Do you find it hard to trust others? Are you engaging in patterns that are harmful to you, despite efforts to stop? At times, difficulties can arise that can force almost anyone to re-examine their life and realize the need for change. The good news is that we are all capable of making progress and achieving growth. All that is needed is the desire and willingness to explore what is no longer working in our lives.

You've experienced some tough stuff in your life, even traumatic things. It's left your body feeling on edge and emotionally you struggle with guilt, fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, isolation and self doubt. You're tired of your past showing up in your day to day and you just want to find some peace and freedom from the fear and pain. As a trauma, anxiety, and relationship expert, I help adults understand their pain and heal for good so that they can truly enjoy their lives, not just "cope". Jungian Therapists
How does Jungian therapy work?
Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.
How long does Jungian therapy last?
Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.
Is Jungian therapy effective?
According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.
Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?
Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
