Do you find yourself getting in your own way, even when you know what needs to change? You may struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, or patterns that lead to overthinking, avoidance, or pulling back just as things start to move forward. Over time, this can affect your confidence, your relationships, and how you see yourself. I work with adults who notice these patterns but haven’t been able to interrupt them. The work centers on making sense of what’s happening, so your reactions stop feeling automatic and start making more sense.

Additionally, I work with clients on coping skills, drug abuse, emotional disturbances, gender dysphoria, hoarding, oppositional defiance (ODD), self-esteem, self-harming behaviors, and issues related to sexual abuse.
Do you feel trapped in isolation, disconnected from those around you, or overwhelmed by the pain that leads to self-harm? It can feel like no one understands your struggles or how hard it is to cope with life’s challenges. You don’t have to face this battle alone. I specialize in working with individuals facing Antisocial Personality Disorder, self-harming behaviors, and difficulty managing emotions. In our sessions, I’ll provide a safe, compassionate space where you can express your pain and begin to build healthier coping skills. Together, we can work toward healing and finding peace within yourself.

Life can be a wild ride of ups and downs. It is my belief that those adventures can be easier to go through if you have someone to talk to. I am a down-to-earth person who understands empathy while sharing a non-judgmental space to promote healing. It is my goal to foster growth, give support and encourage my clients to live the life they have always envisioned for themselves. "Growth is painful. Change is painful. But, nothing is as painful as staying stuck where you do not belong."

Have you ever felt as if your life has been or is being turned upside down? You may feel lost, broken and alone. It is not uncommon to feel sadness and disconnection. My passion is bringing healing to individuals who are experiencing some type of emotional distress. Counseling can seem intimidating and the decision to seek counseling is a courageous one. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship that is based on genuine acceptance and unconditional regard can be a pathway for change and healing. I value the importance of empathy, respect, and self-determination.

Life doesn’t come with a clean slate, but it does offer second chapters. At Second Chapter Therapy, I believe your story is still being written — and the pages ahead can hold healing, growth, and possibility. My role is to walk beside you as you navigate life’s challenges, whether that’s working through trauma, managing anxiety or depression, building healthier relationships, or rediscovering your sense of self. I know starting therapy can feel vulnerable. That’s why I create a space that is safe, judgment-free, and grounded in compassion. I listen with both empathy and curiosity, helping you make sense of your experiences,

Life brings its share of challenges and changes, and we all deserve someone who offers support and compassion. During difficult times, having a good listener can make all the difference. Providing clients with a safe, nonjudgmental space is essential for fostering growth and healing.

Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow.

Life can become overwhelming, making it difficult to maintain important roles or relationships. That the ways you’ve managed to this point seem to have lost their impact or have become a part of the problem. These situations may leave you feeling confused, directionless, or unmotivated. It can begin to feel as if you have no traction as your confidence in who you were recedes and is replaced with pressure to “just do or be this”. The difficulty to find a way to live life on your terms, to be who you want to be, can bring on feelings of hopelessness when facing things alone.

Waitlist for new clients
Thank you for taking the first step into looking for help for you or your family. I have experience with a wide variety of clients after working at a residential treatment center for children and adolescents and working at an outpatient agency for all ages and needs. I am here to help you through challenging times and to achieve your goals. I specialize in working with children, teens, young adults, and parents, but I can help any individual who wants help with anxiety, trauma, depression, family conflict, or simply balancing life's stressors. Asking for help is not easy, but it "takes a village" and you do not need to do it alone.

I am particularly interested in clients that are open to cultivating the garden of their life. Our life can represent a garden; in any garden there are beautiful flowers and unfortunately there are thorns and thistles. My client must be willing to smell the aroma of the flowers as we travel through the thorns and thistles of the garden life also.

I believe individuals come to therapy with concerns that have become problematic to their lives. However we were raised, along the way, we picked up traits that grew along with us, and manifested themselves in our everyday living; traits, such as abandonment, mistrust, defectiveness, vulnerable to harm/illness, entitlement, unrelenting standards/hypercritical, and dependence. I believe these traits hide in plain sight. Individuals will come to therapy looking to relieve themselves of moments, or situations, only to find these traits, disguised as their concerns. It is up to our work together to find a way to overcome these traits.

Many people move through life carrying more than they show on the surface. You might be juggling responsibilities, supporting others, or simply trying to keep up, all while feeling stressed, disconnected, or unsure where to turn next. Therapy offers a steady place to slow down, understand what’s been weighing on you, and make sense of patterns that no longer serve you. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in compassion. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, healthier boundaries, and a way of moving through your life that feels more balanced and sustainable.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
