Feeling like you've had better days? Sometimes our mind races, we feel overwhelmed, a little confused or sadness arrives. Humans, at some point in life, will experience difficulty making decisions, we get stuck in our heads and find it hard to move past unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Asking for help is hard, but it doesn't have to be. Therapy helps relieve clients by offering skills and techniques to help manage. Let’s move through, instead of around, emotional pain and that feeling of being stuck. I also provide secondary supervision to enhance the growth of professionalism for interns.

My clients want to be free from past grief and trauma and feel more confident about how they handle their current life's challenges.
When looking for a therapist, you have to weigh the pros and cons like looking for the perfect shoes for your perfect outfit. If they match perfectly but hurt your feet, how often will you wear them? Do you care about the pain as long as you look good? Or is comfort your main goal? This is usually a good place to start, just like finding your practitioner. Do you interview your therapist first? Do you know what to ask in order to know if you can have a good fit?

Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with clients navigating life’s plot twists, anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+ identity, and grief, basically all the moments where things don’t go as planned and your brain decides to add commentary.
The first session is basically a “let’s see if we vibe” meeting. We’ll get to know each other, talk through your history, what’s going on right now, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, without it feeling like an interrogation.

I enjoy working with client who have anxiety disorder as well as those who are experiencing grief and loss.
Do you find yourself constantly overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like you should have it all together, but inside, you’re overwhelmed? Anxiety can be exhausting, especially when it shows up as people-pleasing, perfectionism, or self-doubt. You may look capable on the outside, but feel stuck, insecure, or never quite “enough” on the inside. I’m passionate about helping people with anxiety find a steadier sense of calm and confidence. Together, we’ll work to quiet the mental noise, strengthen your sense of self, and build healthier boundaries—so you can feel more grounded in your life.

Whether you are dealing with a traumatic birth, betrayal trauma, or a loss of a loved one, there is a path forward.
Two people can experience the same traumatic event and have two very different reactions. Treating trauma means treating the individual. I utilize trauma-informed methods and work from a collaborative approach with the client to determine the speed and depth of our work together. I use EMDR for trauma due to its focused nature and effectiveness.

I am passionate about working with grief and trauma because I personally understand how debilitating they can be.
Welcome! In my work with individuals (ages 10 and up), couples, families, and groups in counseling, I believe in using a holistic approach and addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual areas of people's lives because treating the obvious symptoms is not necessarily the cure. With a background working as an RBT for children with Autism, I take a creative and individualistic approach to working with my clients to address their areas of concern. My style of work takes a huge focus in making changes. Working with me will involve being open to experimenting with various methods to do things differently in your life.

I have been a world class bodybuilder and trainer to the stars for 25 years, author of "From Grief To Relief," host and producer of the "From Grief To Relief" radio show, and have always cared more about making a difference than making a dollar.
I am an existential-humanistic practitioner who will provide an empathetic, non-judgemental, and confidential environment where you can be fully heard and understood. I am not interested in identifying symptoms to label human beings in order to meet the needs of insurance companies. I am interested in meeting the needs of individuals, families, and couples by utilizing a mind, body, and spirit approach with the intent of addressing the root causes of pain and discomfort. This approach will pave the way toward happiness and give the spirit fertile ground in which to flourish.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
