Sometimes we feel stuck.
Grief
, anxiety, depression, and health issues can overwhelm you and make everyday life feel like you are spinning your wheels. Are you wanting to gain some traction to start healing? Are you ready for change? Are you looking for the next steps to living your best life? I have been in the field of clinical social work for 30 years using several modalities to help individuals make change in their lives. I use a holistic approach that looks at how we treat our bodies, what thoughts we have, how we connect to others, and how we connect to the universe.

I specialize in supporting individuals who are ready to transform their trauma,
grief
, anxiety, or addictive patterns into insight and healing.
If you’re on a journey of coming back to yourself, your body, and your wholeness, you’ve come to right place. If you’ve been feeling that it’s time to unpack the traumas you’ve been carrying for too long, or if you’re ready to get to know all of the parts of you, even the ones you tend to look away from in shame, you’ve come to the right place. You have the power to create a life you are excited about—a life you're fully here for. You have the power to embrace, heal, and live into every facet of yourself. I would be honored to support you to open your hands to the power you hold.

My clients are adults experiencing challenges with addiction, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, trauma,
grief
and
loss
. I believe deep listening can be an antidote to our increasingly challenging world. My therapy style is collaborative and strengths-based, helping people tap into their inner wisdom and resources. I am fascinated by people - their stories, challenges, interests, hopes, loves, struggles, and goals. I particularly enjoy helping people discover and change thinking and behavior patterns that are no longer useful, uncover neglected parts of themselves, and grow into the successful people they mean to be.

Seeking support during a difficult season of life is a sign of strength and courage. If you're going through a major life transition, a
loss
, or suffering from symptoms of anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation, you don't have to do it alone. I believe that the most important, beautiful, and hopeful times of our lives are the ones that begin in the dark when we believe hope has been lost.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
