My focus is to assist children, adolescents, families, and adults to build positive self image through enhancing self esteem, improving social skills, and reducing family and peer conflicts. I work closely with parents to strengthen their limit setting, clear expectations, and conflict resolution abilities through improved communication skills. Setting limits and boundaries in all relationships and dynamics is a tool that I often use in my therapeutic process. Giving children, parents, couples and individuals tools to maneuver through the daily issues are tools and techniques that I focus on in our sessions.

Adam is devoted to walking alongside clients with compassion, confidence, and purpose. His goal is to help others experience the fullness of being emotionally and relationally strong. I work with adults (young adults to seniors) dealing with anxiety and depression in reaction to trauma, life stage changes, relationships, divorce, parenting, career, death, illness, sexual abuse, body image, loneliness, and struggles with the loss of meaning, joy and direction in life.

Clear, Resolve, Transform. I help clients discover and resolve subconscious causes for emotionaI and behavioral difficulties. The Subconscious controls emotions, desires, memory, habits, thoughts, dreams, and automatic responses. One may consciously understand the value of eliminating problematic emotions, thoughts or behaviors but unless the Subconscious Mind is reached, enduring change is unlikely. I address the underlying subconscious blocks to living a clear and free life. I have effectively treated sexual abuse, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, phobias, addictions and more. Issues are cleared, clients report being able to function with more energy and clarity. Relationships thrive and lives are transformed.

I graduated from UNCG in 2007 with my masters in community counseling. After becoming fully licensed I worked in the community, school, and inpatient settings providing therapeutic services and support. With 15 years experience in multiple settings, I began to specialize in issues ranging from depression, anxiety, and trauma, to difficult transitions like parenting, divorce, and empty-nesting. I continue to see a broad range of mental health concerns, genders, and populations. I meet clients where they are and work towards their goals.

It is a place wherein you can express your thoughts and feelings while knowing and feeling that you are being heard. The SAFE place is a judgment-free zone and a place for a therapeutic relationship between you and your counselor. Maurice Fairley is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) for the state of North Carolina and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Maurice’s experience includes working with adolescents and adults treating symptoms of trauma, depression, anger and anxiety. Maurice also has over 20 years working with the juvenile justice population at Wake Juvenile Detention Center.

As a counselor, I believe that true and lasting change comes from looking at the whole person. I work with patients to bring about transformation through an understanding of the body, emotional healing, behavioral change and a spiritual foundation. I enjoy working with adolescents and families who have been affected by violence, trauma, family changes, drugs and major life changes. I also work with individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, life changes, addictions as a result of trauma, self-regulation, stress and conflict. I desire to help strengthen and deepen your personal relationship with Jesus Christ as you heal.

It has been pointed out to me by clients, colleagues, family and friends that they find it easy to talk to me. It is not uncommon for strangers to share there challenges and successes with me after a few words of casual conversation. If I were to list what I thought allows me to build rapport so easily, I would have to say that I believe it is because people are able to sense that I care about them genuinely. As a therapist, I care about seeing each one of my clients reach the goals that they set for themselves.
